Just a public service announcement.....

Two more letters have been added. You are required to include these so not to be hateful and discriminatory. Those two letters are "I" and "A" before the "+"

I have no idea what the "I" and "A" stand for.

The "+" means more are coming.

When I was a boy, there were just two: Male and Female. Those don't appear anymore, no "M" or "F" anymore. It was easier then: you just stood in front of a mirror and took a look. There were two options. It's complicated now. And changes quite often.

I know what you mean. When I was a boy there was only heterosexuals and homosexuals. However homosexuals still had gender. And they knew their own gender. They were either male or female regardless of sexual preference.

Who knew there were so many different types of perversions.

I think there's supposed to be a "2" in that lineup, too, but I don't know what it means.

I'm not sure what the I means but think the A means Asexual, namely the people who don't want to have sex with anyone. Apparently they need to join protests to assert their right to not have sex with anyone.

I remember the columnist Dan Savage mocked them for it some time ago, asking why they were protesting. As he said if you don't have desires for anyone you're welcome to simply not have sex with anyone - there's no need to protest for the right, you just get on with your life as you did before. Then came the predictable "whatever-phobic" accusations, except they largely fell flat because Dan Savage is openly gay himself.

The Babylon Bee had an article ages ago in which L, G and T lynched B for implying there were only two genders. Which is a bit ironic when you think about it - if someone is bisexual it does mean there's maybe scope for another letter to be added to the alphabet people to cover people who are a bit less fussy.

I still like seeing the letters rearranged - years ago on another forum I saw someone refer to the QUILTBAG community. That particular person was a lesbian, so she can get away with doing that sort of thing. The rest of us would probably be called something-phobic for doing it.

Here's what google says...

"LGBTQIA is an abbreviation for "lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and/or questioning, intersex,, asexual/aromantic/agender." The “A" in LGBTQIA may also refer to “ally" or “allied," meaning someone who does not identify as LGBTQIA but supports those who do."

It's an attempt to be ALL inclusive. But of your it excludes most people - those who are Male, Female, Straight. We're left out.

I knew this guy in college who said he told the financial aid office that he was a male lesbian. He hoped the "lesbian" would help him get scholarships. He did have a smile on his face as he said that...

In the end, none of those are as important as being a Christian.
