In the past....

Everyone Loves Raymond also had church-going characters (kids go to a Catholic school, too)
Home Improvement had characters who regularly attend church (although such was never much of a theme in the show)

I liked Joan of Arcadia. Joan had so much attitude, but she always obeyed God, even when she didn't want to, and she always learned a valuable lesson about life and living.

Yes, how could I forget her?

Although, she seems to be somewhat of a caricature of some things at which atheists might poke fun...a prosthelytizing young-Earth creationist.

A funny scene in a recent episode had Mrs. Cooper quoting from the Bible several times, and finally Leonard's mother angrily told her to read another book.

Mrs. Cooper calmly told her that if and when God writes another book, she will read it. Even I thought that was a great comeback. LOL!
