Pre-packaged dinner kits

Have you ever sent away for one of those pre-packaged dinner kits that contain all the ingredients and just have to be cooked?

If so, what did you think of it, and especially what about the cost?

I haven't done it, but my niece has tried a few and shared her opinion with me. There are some that are very good and tasty and others that just overcharge for the amount of food they provide.

My parents used them when my mom was very sick. Then when she died my dad used them for a while as he adjusted to life without her.

We used them for a while. They can be a bit speedy. Also, many of the meals were just not what I wanted.
