What do you think about restaurants who butter your toast for you? Would you prefer to do it yourself?

I thought about this as I was eating toast this morning and how I hate it when someone else butters it for me.

First world problems :)

Seriously, the only place I go for toast is a local diner where my wife and I have breakfast if we have an early appointment somewhere. Usually when we have the car serviced we drop it off and then go for breakfast. They butter the toast, and it's fine with me. I guess we could always ask them not to butter it, if we wanted to do it ourselves.

I guess it depends how you like your toast. I prefer mine crisp so I would rather butter it myself once the toast has cooled slightly; a soggy piece of browned bread dripping melted butter onto my clothes is not my idea of good toast.

Exactly this! I get so disappointed when I see that icky thing in front of me.
