Compared to the OT (and even NT) - insofar as clear action from Heaven - the God of the Bible seems to be very inactive in our modern History. Or - He's changed his Modus operandi.
I had this conversation tonight - directing my words to God (that is, the God described in the OT/NT). Of course I got no answer, just silence.
The comparison. Sodom and Gomorrah. The people there were doing some evil stuff. Obviously they were practicing sexual immorality. What else? Apparently they wanted to have perverted sex with angels. Sounds bad. Not sure it's mentioned, but given that depravity who knows what they were doing to children as well.
The cry to heaven was heard and the cities were punished. Not through an army, through other people.....no - heaven answered and fire and brimstone destroyed the wickedness.
This fire and brimstone stuff from heaven is unheard of in our day...and in any of modern history. There's billions of more people around...and lots more sin. There's depravity, obviously, and has been for a long time. There's child sex trafficking. There are horrors that are practiced that many people just don't even want to know about.
And apparently - this no longer matters to God, based on His previous response. No fire and brimstone, no punishment. What am I to make of this? It's all bound up for Judgement Day? Because it seems to me that the cry to Heaven was heard over so few people compared to today, and I don't believe it was more wicked.
