Thanks for that info. I have a ceiling fan but don't use it because the birds cage is open all day and they could get hurt if they flew into the fan. I have a couple of other fans, though, too.

Yes, the blades might not do a bird any good if they should meet. I'd expect a bird would avoid it but wouldn't want to take that risk.

What you want isn't a fan that blows air hard enough to be cooling, just enough to gently move it around.

I have the low position on my fans. That blows it slowly.

I remember a few years ago I saw a huge living room with four ceiling fans in it. Each one had five blades and the blades turned so slowly you could easily see them moving. That sort of thing would be ideal, they move slowly enough that a misplaced wing wouldn't come to any harm.

Having a living room big enough to need four ceiling fans would also be rather nice :)

Sounds like a huge living room. Mine is large but not that big.

It was huge. The whole house was beautiful. I'm glad I didn't have to clean it.

Cleaning a large house is so much work. I used to do it for a living. One mansion 3 days a week.

The trouble with a big house is that it's so much easier to hoard junk when you don't need to throw it out to clear the space

Yes, that's true!! Our house isn't anywhere near a mansion but for 2 of us it's way too big. We found out our daughter isn't moving in after graduation so it seems even bigger now. I tried to throw out stuff before we moved here but it seems there is way too much left!

I am so glad my wife is a minimalist like me but things still tend to collect.

Yes, that's true for some people. The ones I worked for did not hoard junk, though, or I wouldn't have cleaned for them.

Often useful stuff is only useful in theory rather than in practice.

Yes, some stuff has piled up at my place but no where near a hoarding situation.

I have a lot of stuff in my closets but then that's what closets are for, to put junk away.
