LONG TIME California senator Dianne Feinstein died last Friday at the age of 90. She was moderate, "old school" Democrat and this REALLY bothered Democrats who couldn't wait for her to die so they could replace her with a "Progressive" Democrat.

The radical Democrat governor of California has (very quickly!) appointed a replacement: Laphonza Butler (44). The governor pledged to appoint a woman with black skin - and he did. She is also LGBTQ+. All huge pluses for Democrats. And of course, she is a radical, extreme liberal ("Progressive" is the label they use for this).

Little else is reported about her other than she doesn't live in California (Maryland is her home), and that she is very involved in pro-abortion and pro-LGBTQ+ affairs. She has never held elective office.

The local newspaper goes on and on and on about how glorious it is that Newsom appointed a black, female part of the LGBTQ+ community - without mentioning anything about her qualifications, education, experiences or accomplishments... or how is it that someone from Maryland best knows California. BUT what's critical is her gender, her skin color, and she's LGBTQ+ Those points come up over and over again in the article (I started to count how many times but gave up at 11).

This is how things roll when Democrats are in charge. As revealed by Gavin Newsom - who some predict could be a future president.

I wonder.... I honestly do... if people will ever wake up and realize that the Democratic Party has morphed into something they aren't and stop electing them?

I just keep thinking about that guy who mumbled something about hoping his children would be judged for the content of their character rather than the color of their skin. I guess he didn't know what he was talking about....

The sad thing is that every single minority appointed because of their identity makes it harder for other minorities to succeed based on their accomplishments.

Some years ago I would often have lunch with a particular coworker who hated anything that even looked like affirmative action. He firmly believed they held black people back because they made it harder to demonstrate success based on ability or achievement rather than appointment as the token minority. He was the only black guy on an otherwise white team and often wondered whether he had been hired for his skills or his pigmentation, so he constantly felt the need to prove himself over and above what anyone else would need to do.

I am so sick of all political decisions being based on anything but experience and credentials. Your sexual preference and skin color should have NO place in that process. Gavin, who wants to be remembered for being the 1st for everything should spend a little more time trying management of the state instead of pimping himself as a pinup boy. So far everything he's done in his political career has been pretty much a disaster since no thought has gone into actually doing what he has made law.

Could it be that this is a common POV among people in his situation but that it's not warranted?

I know people who go through life convinced that the world "has it in for them" because they are members of SOME minority group or other, even if it's not a racial grouping. Every setback in life gets blamed on somebody else's presumed prejudices, and that explanation provides comfort to the first person.
