Yes. I suspect this is usually the case for parents and their young (sometimes older) children. Rhetorical question: When's the last time one of your parents asked you for advice?

I was thinking the other way around. Does God respect people who are dead in their sins? Sounds more like love. But also respect. Just not in the sense of: oh I place such high value on your ideas. God with Job. Come teach Me. Or Jonah. That was some John Cleese humor with that plant that died. I don't really see respect, but respect for his life maybe? He did respect Abraham and Moses. He listened to Abraham.

True, God is not a respecter of persons...he doesn't play favorites.
