Such a joyous time of the year, I just love the decorations

I do too Bill. Took a walk with Suzy just now and saw a lot of decorated trees. Makes me want to get a tree and decorate it. Maybe I can find a less expensive one.

This version of The Little Drummer Boy always puts a little pep in my step , a little zip in my hip, and a little glide in my stride.:bananmac: :abanana: :BananaMon:

Yes, it is really nice.

Drummer Boy is always a mood lifter
I agree.

The city always put lights up around the main shopping area which is always enjoyable. I think it's the atmosphere more than anything I enjoy.
I love that, too!

Yes I particularly like this version for it's toe tap ability. LOL. I learned that song when I was in elementary school, and it is one of my favorite Christmas Carols.
It's a good one!

I have always liked the Temptations
Yes, me, too!

I love trimming the tree. There is nothing quite like having the fresh scent of pine when you wake up in the morning.

I miss that. Now I want to go out and get a tree and decorate it. I might be able to get a tree for under 30.00. I love real trees!

I'm sorry you miss your family. I won't be with my family of origin this year. I hardly ever see my out of state siblings. I miss them, too.:hug2:

Christmas Bells - Poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

"I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along
The unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Till, ringing, singing on its way,
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime
A chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

Then from each black accursed mouth
The cannon thundered in the South,
And with the sound
The carols drowned
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

It was as if an earthquake rent
The hearth-stones of a continent,
And made forlorn
The households born
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

And in despair I bowed my head;
"There is no peace on earth," I said;
"For hate is strong,
And mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!"

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead; nor doth he sleep!
The Wrong shall fail,
The Right prevail,
With peace on earth, good-will to men!"

My pre-Christmas tipple of last night was a giant (32oz) can a friend gave me. I wouldn't normally drink that much of it in one sitting, especially because it's quite strong, but spread over the entire evening it worked and I didn't have to drive anywhere.
