Explain about the two houses written of in God's Word. Who are they and what does that kind of idea in God's Word actually mean? Why did God Himself cause them? And what became their result per history?

God's future gathering of the two houses of Israel by Christ Jesus. Notice God reveals they have been "two nations", divided into two kingdoms. This gathering event is still future to us, and will only happen with Jesus' future coming, for He is that "one King".

Ezek 37:19-22
19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take
the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in Mine hand.

20 And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.

21 And say unto them, "Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all:
and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:

OK, since there's so many lazy brethren that won't study their Old Testament history, I'm forced to show a summary of events about the two 'houses' written of in God's Word. But one still will not fully understand this until they do... study their Old Testament also like they are supposed, along with study in The New Testament.

1. In king Solomon's day, he had many wives and concubines of the nations. God had warned Israel to not go after the false gods and idol worship of the nations, to stay separate in Him. Solomon fell from God's grace in allowing his many wives to bring in their foreign pagan idol worship among the children of Israel. And God warned Solomon about it twice. (see 1 Kings 11).

2. Because Solomon would not correct the false worship, God said He would rend (part) the kingdom from Solomon's hand, but that He would not do it in Solomon's day, but in the days of Solomon's son, Rehoboam.

3. Rehoboam, Solomon's son, then became king over Israel. The king line was to come from the tribe of Judah, of the house of David, per what God ordained. That was Rehoboam's origin also, thus he was the rightful king after his father Solomon. At this period in history, the southern lands in the south around Jerusalem-Judea was made up to just two tribes, the tribe of Judah, and the tribe of Benjamin. The rest of the tribes of Israel living the northern parts of the holy land.

4. Solomon, while he was king, had setup Jeroboam of the tribe of Ephraim as ruler over the "house of Joseph" (ten tribes) in the northern lands. About that time when God had decided to rend the kingdom of Israel from Solomon's hand, God sent His prophet Ahijah to Jeroboam. The prophet caught Jeroboam in a field wearing a brand new coat. Ahijah tore it off him, and took is tore it into 12 pieces, and handed ten pieces to Jeroboam. And he repeated what God said, that He would give Jeroboam ten tribes to rule as 'king of Israel' if he would follow Him as His servant David did. (all this so far still in 1 Kings 11). At this Solomon sought to kill Jeroboam, so Jeroboam fled to Egypt.

5. God said He would not take the whole kingdom away from Rehoboam (Solomon's son), but that He would always leave one tribe at Jerusalem for His servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake. (this would be the tribe of Judah at Jerusalem-Judea). (again, see 1 Kings 11).

6. Solomon dies and is buried. Then all Israel came to Shechem to make Rehoboam king. Then Jeroboam was notified, and he returned from Egypt. Jeroboam and the congregation (northern tribes) asked Rehoboam to lighten the labor burdens that his father Solomon had laid upon them. Rehoboam then said his father's burdens would be like Rehoboam's little finger, meaning Rehoboam was going to make the labor burdens upon the ten tribes even greater than his fathers. At this the ten tribes said, "What portion have we in David?... to your tents, O Israel: now see to thine own house, David. So Israel departed to their tents." (1 Kings 12).

7. So the ten northern tribes of Israel parted from Jerusalem and Rehoboam, king of Judah. The ten northern tribes then made Jeroboam king of Israel (like God had said through His prophet Ahijah). This began God's split of the 12 tribes of Israel into 2 separate 'houses' and 'kingdoms'. Something to note also, is that Jeroboam was born of the tribe of Ephraim. The king tribe which God had previously ordained was to be the tribe of Judah, not Ephraim, and then from Judah the house of David. Jeroboam of the tribe of Ephraim did not fit this requirement at all. So what was God up to with doing all this? (1 Kings 12 still).

8. At this split with the ten tribes returning back north after the event at Shechem, Jeroboam was made 'king of Israel', which meant over the ten northern tribes of Israel ONLY.

Rehoboam, Solomon's son, king of Judah in the southern lands, was followed by the tribes of Judah and Benjamin only. A small remnant of the rest of the tribes that lived in the southern lands Rehoboam also ruled over. But the largest body of Israelites were of the ten northern tribes ruled by Jeroboam of the tribe of Ephraim. (see 1 KIngs 12).

9. All the following history is written in 1 Kings 12 thru 2 Kings 17 --
The southern kingdom became known in God's Word as the "kingdom of Judah", or "house of Judah", or just "Judah", or just "Jerusalem", and even as just "Rehoboam" some times. Only the tribe of Benjamin at this time was with the tribe of Judah.

10. Under king Jeroboam of the tribe of Ephraim, the northern ten tribe kingdom was known as the "kingdom of Israel", or "house of Israel", or just "Israel", or just "Samaria" (it's capital city in the north), or even as just "Ephraim", or as just "Joseph". This "kingdom of Israel" made up the majority of the children of Israel. So after God split the old kingdom of Israel that was under Solomon, the Bible student must learn that after this split, "Israel" or "house of Israel" now meant the ten northern tribes of Israel ONLY.

11. During this history in 1 & 2 Kings, both the "house of Judah" and the "house of Israel" appear in the same verse, but is about 2 distinctly separate kingdoms. If you don't know this from Bible history, then you will wrongly assign Bible prophecy to the wrong group of peoples of Israel. Even today, some Jews will wrongly assign Bible prophecy to be only about about them when it is actually meant for the ten northern tribes of the "house of Israel" only.

12. The Jewish historian Josephus actually said that those of Israel that returned from the 70 years Babylon captivity is when all those living in the southern lands of Judea took the title of 'Jew'. Per Ezra 2, NONE of the ten northern tribes are shown returning from Babylon, and the reason why is simple. It's because the ten northern tribes had been removed from the northern lands about 120 years prior to Judah going into their Babylon captivity. The title of 'Jew' did not apply to all the 12 tribes like it is often wrongly used today. That title of 'Jew' applied ONLY to those of the southern "kingdom of Judah" of 3 tribes (Judah, Benjamin, and Levi).

The ten tribe "house of Israel" was not there in the holy lands anymore. There's been 2 captivities of the children of Israel removed from the holy land. The first one was upon the ten northern tribes taken captive to Assyria by the kings of Assyria, and to the lands of the Medes, never to return.

14. Because that was the time of the old covenant worship, everyone was required to go to Jerusalem from year to year to worship. Jeroboam, king of Israel (ten tribes), feared if the ten tribes went south to Jerusalem, they might decide to stay and augment Judah's kingdom. So Jeroboam setup 2 gold calf idols in the northern cities of Dan and Bethel, and told Israel there's your gods. Jeroboam then setup common priests of the people. Because of this, the Levite priests ordained by God that served in the northern kingdom, left the ten tribes and went south and joined with the "kingdom of Judah". A remnant of the ten tribes that refused the calf idols also went south and joined with Judah (see 1 Kings 12, and 2 Chronicles 11).

15. Then the "house of Judah" became augmented with the tribe of Levi, and a remnant out of the ten northern tribes that refused Jeroboam calf idols. The majority of Israelites still remained in the northern lands under king Jeroboam. The two houses of the "house of Judah" and the "house of Israel" began to war against each other.

16. God eventually got fed up with Israel's (ten tribes) calf idols that Jeroboam had setup. So God brought the kings of Assyria upon the northern kingdom (in stages), and took ALL of the ten tribed "house of Israel" out of the holy lands captive to Assyria and the lands of the Medes (2 Kings 17). Only the 3 tribe "kingdom of Judah" or "house of Judah", remained in the holy land in the south. The ten tribes would never return, even as it is to this day. (Mark what I said, it is the Jews of the southern kingdom "house of Judah" that has been returning back to the holy land, not the ten lost tribes.) Then about 120 years after the ten tribes had been removed, God sent Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, upon the 3-tribe "kingdom of Judah", and took them captive to Babylon for 70 years. A small remnant of these would return to Jerusalem to rebuild the city, temple, and walls. But the ten tribes remained 'lost'.

17. Per God's prophet Hosea, God revealed much of what He would do to the ten tribe "house of Israel" with ending their kingdom, and scattering them among the Gentiles because of their falling away from Him into Baal worship. He showed He would cause them to lose their heritage as being part of Israel, forgetting His feast days, sabbaths, new moons, etc., showing they would become like Gentiles, living among Gentiles. But a remnant of them would know.

In Romans 9, Apostle Paul quoted from the Book of Hosea to Roman Gentile believers on Jesus Christ. What is strange with Paul doing that is, the Book of Hosea was written especially about and to the ten tribes of Israel ONLY. Yet in God's final proclamation in Hosea, He said He would gather lost Israel at a time when they would be called the children of the living God, which is what Paul quoted to Gentile Romans. That reveals lost Israel scattered among the Gentiles where The Gospel would be present. And that means the western Christian nations where The Gospel went to and was accepted on national scales after the Passion of Christ.

18. When God blessed Jacob, giving him the new name Israel, He also gave a specific blessing about Jacob's seed. This prophecy many struggle with, but really should not if they study their Old Testament histories...

Gen 35:10-11
10 And God said unto him, "Thy name is Jacob:
thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name": and He called his name Israel.

11 And God said unto him," I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply;
a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
KJV

Did you see that promise where God told Jacob (Israel) that "a nation and a company of nations" would be of him? The nation of Israel in the middle east has always ONLY been but 1 nation, so who are those "company of nations" from Jacob's seed? And that "company of nations" means Israelite nations, having their origin from Jacob whose new name God gave Him as Israel.

But don't stop there, keep studying in the Book of Genesis, and you will come to another example of this blessing, given next time from... Jacob:

Gen 48:14-19
14 And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.
15 And he blessed Joseph, and said, "God, before Whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God Which fed me all my life long unto this day,
16 The Angel Which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads;
and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth."
17 And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.
18 And Joseph said unto his father, "Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head."
19 And his father refused, and said, "I know it, my son, I know it:
he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations."
KJV

With that 19th verse, there is Jacob transferring the blessing he received from God that his seed would become "a nation and a company of nations". The blessing then is given to Joseph's two sons borne to him in Egypt while separated from his brethren, Ephraim and Manasseh.

Thus Ephraim the younger was to become "a multitude of nations", and his brother Manasseh was also to become a great people. Where though? Because as said before, the middle east nation of Israel has always been just 1 nation.

If you understand so far, then you are beginning to understand what the ultimate result of God scattering the ten tribe "house of Israel" among the Gentiles to become 'lost'.

Let's look at the idea of the 'lost' ten tribes of Israel. Per God's prophecies in the Book of Hosea, the ten tribes as a kingdom in the holy land ended when they fell to Baal worship and would not end Jeroboam's calf idol worship. So God brought the kings of Assyria upon them and took them all captive to Assyria and the lands of the Medes, never to return to the holy lands. While in captivity. they forgot God's feasts, sabbaths, and new moons, basically loosing their identity as part of Israel. They became as Gentiles living among Gentiles, their names even changing.

The ten tribes would migrate westward mainly into Asia Minor and Europe, and carry their various versions of Baal worship with them into those new lands. These peoples made up the Cimmerian and Scythian tribes that traveled west from Assyria, and crossed around the Black Sea into Asia Minor and Europe, with many of them going through the Dariel pass in the Caucasus mountains north of the Black Sea and would become known as Caucasians. These would make up the peoples of the Norsk, Celts, Gauls, Gadites, Angles, Saxons, Normans, Franks, etc., basically the Caucasian peoples of Europe.

Man's secular history and field of anthropology has lied to us. The Assyrian tablets have sections translated all the way back to the 1930's about lost Israel in Assyria, and how the names the Assyrians called them eventually related to the word Cimmerian about the Cimmerian tribes that migrated westward in Europe (see linguist professor Leroy Waterman's work, Royal Correspondence of the Assyrian Empire).

What that is pointing to is the first Western Christian nations of history in Asia Minor and Europe. Once Lord Jesus was rejected in Jerusalem, The Gospel was sent to the "lost sheep of the house of Israel", like Jesus said (Matthew 15:24). After the split of old Israel back in Rehoboam's day, the "house of Israel" became a title only for the ten northern tribe "kingdom of Israel", and not about the Jews of the southern "kingdom of Judah".

To this day, many preachers wrongly confuse this issue about who the people of Israel actually are per God's Word. Both the "house of Judah" (Jews) and the "house of Israel" (ten lost tribes) are all Israelites, but the ten tribes are NOT Jews. Like the Jewish historian Josephus said, those who returned from the Babylon captivity is when the remnant of the "house of Judah" began calling theirselves by the title of Jew, which comes from the sole tribe of Judah.

Thus there are actually TWO Israels; the "house of Judah" represented still in the middle east as today's nation of Israel, and... the ten lost tribes scattered to the West known as the historical Christian nations. The Christian nations of Europe represent Ephraim's "multitude of nations", and the United States of America represents his brother Manasseh that would also be a great people per the Genesis 48 prophecy. You have The Bible right before you, but you just probably don't know this, simply because of man's ideas being followed instead of Bible prophecy and history that shows its fulfillment.

In other words, a version of the idea that's most commonly known as "British Israelism."

So what God's Word ACTUALLY shows, is that Jews who like to claim they only represent God's Israel, are totally and completely wrong.

Still today the majority of Israelites are made up of the ten lost tribes which God scattered out of the holy land never to return. They made up the majority of Israelites before their scattering, and still do to this day.

In Matthew 21, Lord Jesus pointed directly to the ten tribe "house of Israel" that was scattered at that time, as being the "nation" that The Gospel and Kingdom would go to. He said the kingdom would be taken from those men of Judah at Jerusalem and instead give to a "nation" that would bear its fruits (of The Gospel). This "nation" represented His Church among the scattered lost sheep of the "house of Israel" and believing Gentiles along with them. Only a remnant of Jews would convert to Jesus and be among them.

In His Message, Jesus used the idea of a 'vineyard' as that "nation"...

Matt 21:33-43
33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:

34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.

Jesus is using an analogy of God as the "householder" that planted that vineyard and set it up, and then went in a far country. That is represent when God set Israel in place for this world with a Mission to accomplish for Him. And when it was time, He sent His Son (Jesus Christ) to reap the fruits of it.

35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, "They will reverence my son."
38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, "This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance."
39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.

God sent His prophets to testify to the husbandmen (rulers in Jerusalem), and they killed them. Then He sent His Son thinking surely they would receive Him, and the husbandmen KNOWING The Son was the Heir, they murdered Him upon a cross.

40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?

Jesus then asked those scribes and Pharisees that were against Him what the Lord of the vineyard would do when He returns.

41 They say unto Him, "He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons."

By that, the blind scribes and Pharisees of the Jews pronounced their own sentence.

42 Jesus saith unto them, "Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
43
Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof."
KJV

Then Jesus proclaims to those Jews that the kingdom would be taken from them, and instead given to a "nation" that would bring forth its fruits. He was pointing to the "multitude of nations" of Ephraim per the Genesis 48 prophecy which would be about the western Christian nations of history! They represent Christ's Church of BOTH believing Israelite and believing Gentile, joined together as one body. And they ESPECIALLY include the ten tribe "house of Israel" which God first scattered to Assyria while leaving the Jews in the holy land to go into their later captivity to Babylon.

In Isaiah 5, God pointed to His vineyard as being the "house of Israel", a term after the split of 1 Kings 11 used only for the northern ten tribes of Israel.

Isa 5:1-7
5 Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:
2 And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt Me and My vineyard.
4 What could have been done more to My vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?
5 And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:
6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
7
For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
KJV

"For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel..." -- so there it is, declared from The LORD's Own mouth.

Jer 3:17-18
17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
18 In those days
the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.
KJV

Do you see that above distinction between the two houses, "the house of Judah" and "the house of Israel"? Don't allow any man to tell you that means only Jews, because only that "house of Judah" involves the Jews. The rest of those there, the "house of Israel", were never known by the title of Jew, and were not even present in the holy land at Jesus' 1st coming.

So why... do today's Jews try... and claim they only represent the children of Israel? Why would they be so quick to disown their brethren of the ten tribe "house of Israel" that God scattered first? Is it just because those Jews simply don't have a clue as to where God scattered the ten tribed "house of Israel"? That's not a valid excuse, because God showed even them per His prophet Hosea, and through New Testament hints and Messages like the one in Matthew 21 that Jesus gave, and by Apostle Paul quoting from Hosea directly to Roman Gentile believers pointing to Christ's Church!

Likewise, today's pastors that keep pushing lies by the 'false Jews' that try to claim they only represent God's Israel, those pastors need to study their Bible history more also, and come to the truth about the ten tribed "house of Israel" and who they are today.

Likewise, today's pastors that keep pushing lies by the 'false Jews' that try to claim they only represent God's Israel, those pastors need to study their Bible history more also, and come to the truth about the ten tribed "house of Israel" and who they are today.
God showed me that I'm descended from Levi, through the Assyrian captivity. I always thought I was English. Perhaps a descendent of mine will use this knowledge and go to Beulah, which, by the way, was my mother's name. Strange coincidence.

Most descendants of the ten lost tribes don't know their heritage from old Israel. But we can know the children of the northern ten tribes of Israel still exist today, because God told us so in His Word, and even told us from where He will gather them from in final. And the fact that the ten northern tribes of Israel made up the majority of Israelites, and the Jews only made up 3 tribes, ought to reveal that the ten tribes are in majority of numbers, even today. The Jewish historian Josephus (100 A.D.) said in his day the ten tribes were still scattered beyond Euphrates, and were a great number of people, too many to be counted.

When the Lord first told me that I was a Levite, I had no idea what He was talking about. And though I'd read through the Tanakh a few times, all the talk about Hebrews, Israelites, Jews, Joseph, and Ephraim being exiled and returned to the land confused me.
I didn't understand about the ten tribes. It was only during 2019 when He told me to go watch a video about Levites on YouTube that I learned about them. Ends up, the video was more about Ephraim than Levites, though that was how the video started. That is, many of the northern Levites going back to Jerusalem.
I'm a Christian...becoming a Messianic Joe. So far, the few changes I've made in my life have been due to my love for the Lord...there's nothing legalistic about it. And no pressure from Him whatsoever. I'm saved by grace...period! The Lord is slowly leading me in this.
There's no one else that I presently know in my town that the Lord has talked to about this, though there is one person I lost touch with long ago. At the time, I didn't know what she was talking about. Shalom.

This matter about the two 'houses' of Israel, was revealed to me when I was in the military stationed in Spain. A friend of mine stationed in Zaragossa got married and called, wanted me to come up there to meet his new wife. We had a picnic at some old ruins, outside the city, which I asked him what those ruins were. Said he didn't know. Then many years later after I had gotten out of the service, and returned home, and God hit me with the Holy Spirit urge to do in-depth Bible study, He reminded me of that event in Zaragossa, Spain while studying about the lost ten tribes.

Turns out, that Zarragossa means 'fortress of Zarah'. It was an ancient city in Spain. And Zarah was the scarlet thread son of Tamar and Judah per Genesis 38. No wonder why Apostle Paul wanted to visit the brethren in old Spain. The Milesians that ascended to the thrones of ancient Ireland came from there in Spain. So most likely, Apostle Paul had planned on visiting a part of the royal family in Spain.

It's always nice to encounter someone to whom the Lord has given insight into this misunderstood and contentious subject. Nice to meet you, Set Free. Is your avatar of the ten tribes in Assyria?

Most students of the Lost Ten Tribes point to Scriptural passages that suggest that they migrated across continental Europe before settling in what is now England, however.

Yes, my avatar pic is of a carving of the Behistun Rock in northern Iraq, displaying nine tribal chieftans bound to each other with the tenth laying down with the Assyrian king's foot on top of him, to symbolize the king of Assyria having conquered the northern ten tribes of Israel. However, most captions one finds with that pic tries to disguise those as being of a mix of different nations, which is bogus.
