A gentle run today. It turned out a little less gentle than I originally planned but only slightly. The route is getting steadily easier, especially now it isn't so hot and humid. I'm hoping to get a lot more running done before there's snow and ice on the roads.

I had no energy to go out and walk!! But tons of chores today kept me busy and active all day long.

The last couple of days it has rained so today I went for a run. I started out not really wanting to go out at all, so setting a more modest pace than I have sometimes done. After about four miles I was juggling numbers to think about my 10k personal best time and figured I could add a loop to my route and probably shave a bit off my personal best. In the end once I got going on the extra loops my legs just didn't want to slow down and I held a faster pace for the last mile or so than I did for any other part of the run.

I had hoped to shave 30-40 seconds off my personal best but in the end I shaved nearly two minutes off. My previous record had stood since last November. I wonder how long this record will stand.

It's been too rainy for me to want to go out and do any walking or hiking. I've been getting my 10,000 steps inside the house.

It's been too rainy for me to want to go out and do any walking or hiking. I've been getting my 10,000 steps inside the house.

My wife and I had planned to go hiking tomorrow but the forecast changed from "mostly sunny" to "showers likely". She sometimes struggles with the steeper parts, so hiking in the rain is unlikely to be a recipe for an enjoyable outing.

Are you leery of any mudslides after so much rain? We're on day 3 or 4 of the hurricane rain here where I live.

Not worries about mudslides, more that it's not a lot of fun in the rain. Some parts of the trails get very muddy but I've never seen dangerous conditions because of rain around here.

This weekend's challenge was to run a 10k, so I did one of my slightly longer loops. It's a little over 8 miles (12.8k). It felt like it was harder than it should have been but I got my 10k run completed and another shiny gold star on a web site.

My legs are likely to ache in the morning. I'm going to take tomorrow off and maybe go for another run on Sunday.

We're going to the park to walk on the paved trail this morning. I'm hoping for 3 miles if my husband's foot doesn't start hurting.

I got 3,000 steps from doing my household cleaning today. Now to motivate myself to somehow get the other 7,000 completed before bedtime tonight.

Because my thyroid hormones were off (we're adjusting them now and I'll be getting retested), I've had days where my energy levels drop suddenly and I find I can't finish my 10,000 steps. I'm hoping that in the next couple of weeks this changes!

Because of foot issues I have ceased regular exercise of my legs for a long time now, which was at least taking a walk every other day or so, and it's not without it's personal price in pain, pain that I feel just doing stuff like walking through the grocery store or going to a neighbors to exchange some fruit. I even feel it driving back home after shopping and kicking myself because all this is super ridiculous.

So, I'm trying some exercises to build up leg muscle again. It's only 5 reps, but it's a 7 exercise combo for each rep. Ow, the pain. Better at home than out and about though.

Plus, you're probably walking funny with the corn to try to not step on it, so it affects the rest of your body. Are your hips hurting too or your lower back?

You can strengthen your legs by tightening the muscles (squeezing) too! No weights needed! Hold and release multiple times until you feel the burn.

Do you get sleepy during the day or just fatigued?

I would suddenly get VERY sleepy, as if I couldn't stay awake. And then about an hour later I'd be fine. It was weird.

No hip or back pains, thankfully. I'm 99% certain the leg pain will clear up after a while and getting some more exercise.
