If anyone believes the literal and plain meaning of these verses, then it is clear that God did not want sacrifice or blood atonement. Saying "of animals" is adding a qualifier to the text. God never wanted sacrifice. Of animals, or his Son! That the latter was predicted does not make it His desire!
