So it would appear, especially now that it's been reported that the Russians offered a one-for-one trade of our choosing, meaning that the USA could have gotten the Marine instead of the drug smuggler in exchange for the Arms Dealer.

That information seemed to be confirmed when the Biden Administration explained that leaving the Marine behind wasn't so bad after all because he doesn't have too much time left on his sentence in a Russian prison(!)
