Who was actually the worst President ever? (President just means “leader of a country”, not counting Hitler)

I'm leaning toward Biden. His policies are really running the country into the ground, dividing the people and his health is in decline but they try to hide it from everyone so we don't force him out of office. It's embarrassing.

Of the US....

I've seen lists created by American Historians. As I recall, Franklin Pierce is usually at the top of that list (or at least near it).

I've heard that also, but it raises the question for me: "What are the criteria for making that ranking?"

While Franklin Pierce may well be the "worst" president, he cannot be the most consequential. Biden, on the other hand, has done much more to harm the country.

Franklin Pierce was SO bad that his own party, the Democrats, did not nominate him for a second term. It's happened ONLY that time in all of US history not before or since has a president been seen as SO bad, even by his own party.

But it's interesting... there is already talk that Joseph Biden may be rejected by his party for a second term. Only happened once before, 170 years earlier.

That seems to be a "given." Joe is just about the only person who thinks the party would renominate him, and that includes fans as well as detractors.

And that disturbs me. Because anyone who would be nominated by the Democrats in lieu of Biden would likely be worse. A lot worse. I'm truly fearful of our governor becoming our president! Or any of the other persons being mentioned. Sleepy Joe sounds GREAT compared to the alternatives the Democrats are considering.

I was thinking that, too. But we were talking about Joe's chances of renomination, so I didn't go there.

Could be. I guess the question might be whether a determined, concerted plan for merging the USA into some world community dominated by the collectivist values held by many other nations would be worse than a president who is instructed to move that way, but who is also lazy and incompetent, armed only with the ability to abuse Executive Privilege.

People need to relax and accept the fact that God rules over the world and appoints even the most wicked rulers to suit His purposes.

Carter was noted as being weak. However, I think he was a good man. I'm not sure how responsible he actually was for his failings.

You cannot be a good person and hold the President's office. The viler the more successful.

From what I have read Grant was a horrible President and there was a lot of corruption when he was President
John Quincy Adams was not a very good President either
