I knew some guys who used the word "mon" for everything. A waitress might ask if he would like fries. He might say "No mon" or "ya mon". They would swagger, bouncing on their heels at the pool hall saying "A mon" give me a smoke. To bum a cigarette. I don't miss those days.

I probably should have said 'dawg' instead of 'mon' to avoid confusion.

I’ve been told I have none and been told that I and the other midwesterners have a ”sing-song voice.” but the second person was from someone who moved here from New England. Now SHE had an accent.

West Coast, Canadian slang, eh. But I agree with Josiah. I don't have an accent. Even none of you here have an accent. I read you all in Canadian West Coast.
