What do you do for a headache?

I've had two horrible headaches the past two days and I've already taken medicine but it won't help. I normally use a wet cold wash cloth to cool my head down and it normally helps.

You may be dehydrated. Try drinking lots of water. Most people do not know that certain foods and drinks cause dehydration. But one of the first symptoms of dehydration is headache.Another cause for headache by dehydration are beans and nuts. While they are very, very healthy for you, they require you to drink lots of water, or they end up absorbing your body's water causing you to be dehydrated causing headache. Drinking caffeine dehydrates also, cola,coffee, tea require you to drink lots of water for they have a dehydrating effect on the body.

You know me, always getting headaches. So when one comes on I try and take something (even tho I'm pretty sure its not going to work) .. I then take a nap but if that doesn't work and it gets worse I go to the hospital.

I will have to try to wet wash cloth and see if that helps me.

Ibuprofen works very well for me, much better than aspirin or acetaminophen. I also just try some general relaxation.

i usually take motrin or tylenol and lay down in a darkened room..sipping some chamomile tea or peppermint tea. hope you feel better!

I agree with Brighten who said something about dehydration and you should maybe think if that is the case?

Check the back of your skull.. If you check the muscles back there and you find them sore, go see a Chiropractor, because chances are it is because of joint dysfunction.

I usually take tylenol even though I rarely get headaches now. I used to get them when I lived with my dad as a teen. I think they were due to tension. Try to relax maybe in a hot bath.

If you can not breathe out of either nostril, it could be a sinus headache. If so, rub peppermint extract on the forehead and just under the nose.
