What type of kitchen stove do you have (electric, propane, gas, etc.) and are you happy with it?

Our kitchen stove runs on propane just like our furnace and hot water heater. I don't really notice too much of a difference from one that uses natural gas since it's the same type of stove, except it has a converter on it. I hated having an electric stove. I just couldn't cook my meals the same as I did with a gas stove.

Currently have an electric one with the glass top and I don't like it. We just haven't gone about getting gas into our house so we can purchase a gas one. I much prefer the gas to electric. When you turn the gas one off, it is off and does not need cool down time.

My stove dates to about 1950, a Frigidaire by General Motors. It is electric and has two burners that quit and I cannot get replacement parts. It is built in and so a hassle to find a replacement and get installed, so I just use it. It works. Since we bake our vegetables in a corning dish in water with lid instead of stove top boil, I don't need more than two burners, and usually only need one.

Ours is an old electric thing. For the most part it works fine but one of the burners has an intermittent connection. We haven't replaced it because somewhere down the line, hopefully within the life span of a new stove, we hope to gut and rebuild the entire kitchen. I don't really want the cost of another stove to be added to the already non-trivial costs of the house project.
