I know of many Christian cults and they are all dangerous because they exercise control through domination, intimidation, manipulation, and seduction.

Thank you I own a dictionary and understand the meaning of the word. I was looking for what way are you referring to them as dangerous? Aren't all cults dangerous since their purpose is to mislead people away from the truth?

You have a good point there, NewCreation.

We all know what dangerous means, although things can be dangerous to different degrees and in different ways. That said, what might matter in your reply is that the word "cult" has been widely used in two different ways.

First, there are the mind control groups, often misusing their followers for personal gain, and so on, but not necessarily quasi-Christian. And then there are the Christian deviants who may be nice people and all that but hold to some peculiar twists on Christian theology. If some of the people we've been hearing from lately on CH were representative of actual religious organizations instead of being a "lone wolf" kind of religious person, they might be part of a cult in the religious sense.

Which of the two types this discussion was supposed to be about, I don't know.
