1. I'm opposed to capitol punishment. Many are. It's actually very rare these days.

2. The Commandment "You are not to kill" has a specific Hebrew word which means to murder, to intentionally kill an INNOCENT, non-threatening, defenseless person. The very same God who said "You are not to murder" also commanded the death of guilty, threatening, dangerous persons... and "just" war. While I'm pretty much opposed to war... and opposed to capitol punishment... the command is about innocent, non-threatening people.

3. IMO, the issue we should be addressing here is abortion: the intentional killing of innocent, non-threatening, defenseless human life. About one-fourth of American children are murdered, in direct violation of this divine Commandment. Liberals who are SO concerned about innocent murders of colored people (but not the killing of cops) because they are innocent and defenseless (even if they aren't innocent or defenseless) passionately support the killing of unborn children (including those of color) - for any or no reason, whether innocent or guilty of crimes, whether defenseless or carrying a gun. There's the hypocrisy.

Murder is wrong. Executing people who are themselves murderers and a threat to society is not considered to be wrong either by Scripture or custom.

That's the understanding, whether or not it's convincing.
