I usually leave them attached to my shoulders. One time I tried attaching them to my knees but my knuckles dragged on the ground as I walked.

I kind of let them dangle, but they tend to want to walk along on their own treading air.

Sometimes I walk with one arm holding a dog leash (connected at the other end to an actual dog) and the other arm holding a cup of coffee.
