I'm using this thread to embarrass wikipedia and shame it as a source of "unbiased knowledge in all things" that is it's general perception. It's one of the first pop up results on searches for a lot of topics and a lot of people take it as their "one stop shop" for investigating something.

So compare:

October 2019: Vernon Coleman - Wikipedia

to

Today (December 2021): Vernon Coleman - Wikipedia

To make a contribution to this thread, you do not have to use the web archive linked to, although you can use it, or any other archive site, or even just screen shots (trusting they are true and not edited) to make a before and after for this "unbiased" website. Cheers.

I find it interesting when people use wikipedia for their source only to find out that the wikipedia articles they cite are mostly without citations themselves or the citation cites a book that does not cite anything but is a bias opinion.

When doing research, you are not allowed to use Wikipedia as a source.
Wikipedia has an article on my cousin and there are errors on in. One glaring one to me was his birthdate. Got that corrected.

The Wikipedia page on my uncle (he was a famous artist, but not so famous that you would have heard of him, just enough to get into Who's Who book) fails to mention me as part of the family. I put myself in but someone took me out. They were very much opposed to Christianity and after my mother died, they sent my Christmas card back unopened as a blunt message. I think they have friends who removed me from the page.

Yet on other topics like classical music Wikipedia seems to have a lot of info that I presume is largely accurate.

What happened? That article looks quite biased. Someone contact the Wikipedia mods.
