Is penance biblical?

Jesus said He who believes and is baptized will be saved (Mk 16:16) and continues but he who does not believe will be condemned.
That seems very clear to me.

Apparently, you think so. But if that's true, you need to change churches immediately and become a Baptist.

The rest of us know that when it says that he who does not believe will be condemned is not a refutation of Baptism and cannot be so, since the statement just previous made it a factor in one's salvation.

The obvious meaning of the line is that those who are followers of Christ will be saved and those who are not won't be.

Christian suffering!

Patience Implies suffering!

In order to bear fruit we must deny ourself, suffer, and die!

So you're saying that you have to suffer or God won't forgive your sins? That's baloney. Jesus already died on the cross and your sins are forgiven...forgiven before you were even born. Stop trying to slap God in the face saying Jesus' suffering wasn't enough.
