First of all I can’t but help from eating too much when we visit buffets.

I always make a salad plate but don’t start eating it until I’ve returned with my second plate consisting of a little bit of everything that looks good. When I’m initially done (which would be the perfect time to quit eating) I return for the items I especially liked from the initial taste test.

Oh no, I skip the salad and go for the stuff I really want to eat! I usually only fill my plate up once because I need to save room for dessert. Dessert is something I definitely go back for seconds!

I wonder if buffets are a thing of the past.... a 'victim' of the pandemic. We had two in my area, both have permanently closed. An Indian Casino with a huge one replaced it with a "Cafeteria" (difference: customer doesn't serve self).

With the exception of the Chinese buffet that closed at the very start of the pandemic, the other buffets in my area are back in business and booming again.

I usually go for the main part of the meal and when finished with that I get some desert. The one we go to has excellent bread pudding.

Our local buffets got hit hard by the pandemic too but I live in the Mecca of Mormonism and they love their buffets.
