No, but posting it as if it were current could be part of a smart disinformation campaign. Good lies use as much of the truth as possible.

They weren't sharing the meme to purposely bear false witness. They were just unaware of the individual state laws that allowed for a really late voter registration that added more numbers.

It looks like that day is going to be today assuming nothing happens between now and Jan. 20 as it seems they finally called Pennsylvania for Biden which put him over the edge in EVs.

If every mistake is evidence of Russian disinformation the world gets to be riddled with conspiracies, no?

That's why it's complex. You can't assume that every mistake is disinformation, but you know many of them are. And not all the disinformation is foreign.

It has gotten so that few people take the news at face value any more. Everyone looks for an angle
or shadowy figures lurking in dark corners. This will go on for weeks but I think that the bottom line is that the people have spoken and the Donald is no longer President. I just have to chuckle over a tweet that Trump made in 2012 to the effect that "the electoral college is a disaster for democracy". I think he was right!

The electoral college is needed so that 3 big cities don't get to decide our fate.

Yep.... it's undemocratic because it was designed that way. When NYC alone carries more voting weight than combinations of entire states it's clear that something to protect the interests of those states over the wishes of a huge city is required.

The trouble with democracy is that it turns into two wolves and a sheep voting on who is for dinner. Something that reins in the power of government at every turn is best, simply to protect rights of minority groups. In a simple example, does the fact that 51% of people want something banned provide a valid reason to prohibit the other 49% of people from doing it? In a pure democracy it's easy to argue in favor of such a ban but if we are to preserve any sense of individual liberty we must reject such a ban.

This is the sort of situation where we need to be very careful what we wish for, or before long we'll find that 51% of people want churches to be shut down and at a stroke our weekly gatherings will become illegal.

I think that two senators per state is more than enough for the smaller states to have an outsize influence.

I guess the Founding Fathers didn't share your opinion.

All votes should not count.

All legal votes should.

The Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution and it is obviously flawed and has had to be amended 27 times. There will be more I am sure.

Maybe there will be more, but I'd imagine that if your view that having two seats in the Senate were enough for smaller states were a widespread view an amendment to reflect that would have happened by now.
