I volunteered to be a part of a meal train for a neighborhood family and I chose to make chili but don't know what dessert to take. I don't want to do ice cream because it melts way too easily and I don't know how many minutes it will be before anyone answers the door. Due to covid it's no contact. Put the food on the porch, ring the bell and leave.

Beer. A nice bottle of cold beer. Goes good before chili, with chili and after chili.

Well, more seriously, how about chocolate pudding? Let the kids put the whipped cream on top (and make a mess).

Chocolate brownies, with a little jalapeno to spice them up a little (depending on the family's taste for heat in food you can vary the amount of jalapeno or change it for habanero, bhut jolokia, scorpion, Carolina reaper etc)

I grew up in the middle part of the country where chili was paired with cinnamon rolls.

I have heard about that! That sounds really interesting and I almost went with that because I could have bought something premade to just heat up but decided to go with this and the family said it was a crowd pleaser (super easy to make too!)
