Chilling with a beer. I finally got around to getting my taxes sorted out today, so the first set of forms are done. Tomorrow I get to do the second set, although they are easier since they're very similar.

I found a way to get hold of more of my electrolyte tablets. I figured the reason I've been feeling out of sorts is because I'm exercising in the heat and replenishing water without replenishing enough electrolytes. Previously I didn't know of anywhere I could get them from but now I don't need to be quite so sparing with them. I usually put a single tablet in a pint of water, or a tablet and a half in my 24oz water bottle. And then, having ordered more, I found I still had 100 tablets in the basement. Never mind, it will see me through this year easily and probably next year with plenty left over.

Once the laundry is done I've got another piece of code I want to experiment with. That might end up waiting until tomorrow, depending on how late everything runs.

My neighbor told me that when she went away on vacation last week that she ended up in the ER thinking she had some serious issue like appendicitis or something else and it turned out she was badly dehydrated. So you're smart to boost your electrolytes! Stay safe.

I was suppose to go see a client at 2 pm but they aren't answering the phone so I can't do our safety checklist protocol to see if it is safe to go or not. We have a short covid19 questionnaire we have to do before face to face visits

Oh no! Do you have to wait now for them to get back to you before rescheduling the appointment or do you have to keep trying to contact them?

Another wasted trip. The hardware store's web site said they had a backplate that was 6.2 inches across, which is perfect for what I need. I got there to find it was.... 5.2 inches across. Too small. Useless.

For good measure the yellow pine they listed for sale turned out to be white pine which is equally useless. So no marks for a store that should be able to tell the difference between products and should be able to use a tape measure.

Sometimes I've found I drink water and it just gives me a headache, which is a good sign I need electrolytes rather than just fluid. Today's walk was 8 miles in the heat, so I took a water bottle with an electrolyte tablet in it. It felt like it took more from me than I wanted to give but I'm glad I stuck with it.

Happy weekend all! Been resting inside all day again because it’s too hot and humid to go outside again for a few days. Tonight, just watching TV online before hitting the pillow.

Just cooked down a load of raspberries. I love raspberries so this year I decided to buy extra and cook them into a sauce I can keep through the winter. Three quarts of raspberries made about three-and-a-half pints of sauce. I only had three jars on hand so used a smaller jar, and ate the leftovers that wouldn't fit into the smaller jar.

Now the jars are sitting on the counter cooling down, and I'm waiting for the distinctive pop that tells me they sealed.

Too humid to walk today! My dad will be here in a few hours so I have to finish cleaning bathrooms and doing last minute things. The rest of my family will be here later tonight for a visit.

Went for an early walk hoping to beat the rain. That didn't work out, we cut the last half-mile loop off because we got caught in the rain. And then, barely five minutes after getting home, the rain had passed. If we'd known we could have taken shelter for a few minutes and then finished the regular walk. Never mind, it just means I've got an extra 1000 steps or so to make up to maintain a 10,000 step streak.

My dad got here early and we had lunch and now he's napping and I've been working in my garden. My sister and the rest of her family will be here later on sometime.

Hello evening all, been relaxing indoors due to the rain. It’s a much cooler and fresher day today, weather wise. Tonight, just playing some games on my phone before drifting to sleep and chilling online.

Got my taxes done. Along the way I found a mistake in the first set, I'd slipped a digit when adding up a column. It turned out correcting the slip saved enough in taxes to make it worth reprinting everything..

Then my wife and I went out for dinner, which was nice.

Coffee before church. Hoping the weather doesn't get too hot so we can go for our walk shortly after church.

Later this afternoon I'm going to go over my tax forms one last time to make sure I don't have any other silly mistakes. It's really tedious when a slight miscalculation on one form means you have to recalculate another five forms just to feed it all through...

Hey sup all? How are you? I’ve been out this morning for a relaxing and pleasant walk, having done my breathing exercises, meditation and yoga outside today. It’s slightly humid but a lot cooler than the last 2 weeks. It has rained heavily again today, which feels a lot less muggy this evening. I’ve had leftover pizza again today for lunch with lemon iced tea as usual every weekend for lunch which I enjoy a lot personally. Tonight, just lazying online before dozing off.

Taking some online training for my job/career. The counselling theory is referred to as 'ACT' (for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). I had taken the basic training/instruction that ended in May, now am taking a training in ACT for trauma. The instructor is Russ Harris, who has been instrumental in the development of the theory and practice.

Finally gave up waiting for my man with the yellow pine to ever get back to me with anything useful. If only I'd known how long it would waste waiting for him I could have placed a special order and had it in my house by now. Anyway, today I went and got some regular white pine. It's not quite the same but once it's stained it should be close enough. I also have a really nice piece of red oak to make new window sills. The old ones aren't in very good shape or I'd reuse them.

Now I just need to cut stuff to size, trim, edge, stain etc. That might take me a while but at least now I can get on and actually make some progress. It has been intensely frustrating these last few weeks, endlessly waiting trying to figure out how to get hold of what I need. I'm not thrilled about using white pine at all but it's in a less visible location and, at a push, I can replace it with yellow pine later if I feel so inclined. The white pine only cost me maybe $15-20 for enough of it to trim both windows. The red oak was a lot more expensive, so I don't imagine I'll be getting rid of that any time soon.
