Those who reject the Christ also reject the forgiveness of sin. They do not benefit as we do, the ones who by grace through faith believe.

I haven't said otherwise. But the elephant in the room is, why are they subject to hell, a place for punishment of sin, if those sins have been paid for? Would it not be unjust for God to punish someone for something that He punished His Son for?

They've rejected the redemption. The dead in hell no longer have the forgiveness covering them because they rejected it. Just like at our deaths, we benefit from the redemption because by grace through faith we believe. The subjective part is important too.

In the OT, the sins were covered until the Perfect Sacrafice was made. Now they have been done away with.

13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,
14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. - Colossians 2:13-14

The record of debt was done away with at the cross. It would be unjust of God to reinstate that record.

What do the scriptures say will happen to those who do not believe when they die? 2 Cor. 5:10 and Romans 2:6 Judged according to their deeds.

I agree. But that doesn't address what we are discussing.

It's all connected.

Salvation was won for us and then when we die those who believe have eternal life. Those who have rejected the forgiveness do not benefit from it.

But that still ignores the issue I keep bringing up. It is unjust for God to punish someone for sins He put on His Son.

They reject that forgiveness. It's not God's fault.

Then hell is for something other than punishment for sin.

Sin separates from God. Rejection of the atonement separates.

I agree. But hell is punishment for sin.

And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." - Matthew 25:46

And the unrighteous? If they reject forgiveness of sins, at death they are unrighteous. They are judged according to their doings.

Actually they are judged according to what Christ has done. We have no righteousness of our own. Nothing to brag about.

Rejection of Christ does not benefit anyone.

That still ignores the point I keep bringing up. How is it just for God to punish people for sins His Son atoned for? Rejecting God is a sin. Hell is a punishment for sin.

Since the beginning of time Law and Gospel have been proclaimed side by side. I state again that the bible is filled with paradoxes. What does God say concerning those who remain in their sin and refuse to repent?

I know what happens. I know also that the issue I keep bringing up is being ignored.
