Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

The law can save no one. We are justified by faith in Christ Jesus, by believing the gospel of Grace.

3:29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

3:30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.

Jew and Gentile are justified by faith. Without the law. Without the covenants of Israel. Without good works. Without water baptism. Without walking down an aisle. Without confessing. We are justified by faith alone. It has always been by grace, by faith, that one can be justified. It has always been by the justification found in Christ that God could be just in forgiving sin; this was only made known by the revelations given to Paul.

3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

The law is not made void by faith. The law is not made void because Gentiles, not given the law, are saved by faith.

Romans 4:1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?

4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

Abraham was justified unto eternal life by believing God. Abraham was justified by works when he obeyed God and was willing to offer up Isaac.

There is more than one meaning to justification; look at Psalm 51:4 where God is declared to be righteous in his judgment. There is justification unto eternal life as when Abraham by faith, believed God (Genesis 15:6). There is justification in being righteous as when Abraham was justified by works (Genesis 22:2 James 2:21).

It should be noted that Abraham was justified by faith in Genesis 15:6, but after Genesis 15:6 covenant was made with Abraham. Covenant was made in Genesis 15:18 wherein God promised the land to his seed. God made covenant in Genesis 17:2 in which God promised to multiply Abraham exceedingly. God made covenant in Genesis 17:4 in which God promised to make Abraham father of many nations. God made in Genesis 17:10 the covenant of circumcision.

In Genesis 17:1 God told Abraham to be perfect (whole, without blemish) before him. In Genesis 17:2 God said he would make the promised covenant if Abraham was perfect before him. Abraham had to keep the covenant (Genesis 17:9). The book of James says faith was made perfect by works (James 2:22), so it can be seen that Abraham was justified by works under the covenants made by God and his faith made perfect.

4:4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.

If we could produce good works God would be obligated by debt to repay us; this would not be grace. Grace is given not out of debt, but love.

4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

God justifies the ungodly. We do not have to be righteous to be saved. We do not have to turn from sin and clean up to be saved. We have to believe on Jesus Christ who paid the penalty for our sin and justifies us freely by faith in his blood (Romans 3:24-25). Out of love and thankfulness we can, and should live in newness of life unto him (Romans 6:4

This post is moot because no one here seeks justification by means of the Mosaic Law administered through the Levitical priesthood...

This is the ONLY Law that is referenced by Paul in his refutation of the Levitical Law of Moses unto Justification...

However: What do you understand the difference to be between the two operations of faith in Rom 3:30 - eg

BY faith for the Jews...

and...

THROUGH the Faith [of Jesus Christ] for the Gentiles...

You will be afforded an opportunity to explain your unrighteousness to Christ at the Last Judgement...

The same Christ who said:

Mat 5:20

For I say unto you,
That except YOUR righteousness
shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees,
ye shall in no case
enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

To be saved we have to change our minds and believe God as to our sin and judgment and believe the gospel.

After we have believed we should want to please God, reckon ourselves crucified with Christ and raised with him, and consider ourselves dead unto sin. We should repent and want to stop sinning and be led by the Spirit to transform our minds to put off the old man and conform our thinking and lives to the mind of Christ.

As far as Matthew 5:20 Jesus is speaking to the Jews and telling them they would not enter the earthly Davidic kingdom( The kingdom of heaven) unless they were righteous. Of course they need the new testament Spirit empowerment to do that (Ezekiel 36:24-28).

Righteousness that surpasses the Scribes and the Pharisees to be exact! But not according to their version of righteousness which is of tradition and law, but according to the righteousness of the order of the Eternal one, of Melchizedek, the order of the High Priest Jesus Christ! by FAITH we are saved through grace, not to be idle nor a busybody but by faithful 'unseen' works of the Father through the believer as Gods workmanship, the New Adam :)

True,

And if I recall correctly.
The lying scribes laid heavy burdens with teachings of no Moshiach would come.

They also perverted the Holy Torah so that they could remain in power over others. Especially those seeking Salvation.

Even till this era false teachers of a certain school of thought tell children that Satan works for G-d.
And also tells them that they are the Messiah for the world.
All the while denying Yeshua(Jesus) is The Holy One promised of by avraham himself.

Jesus spoke of being more righteous than the Scribes and Pharisees in regard to the Jews having to be righteous to enter the promised Davidic kingdom on earth.

I agree,

The levitical preisthood had a lineage and history of corruption. Hence the need for a high priest to remedy the familial issue of blood.

Even so,
The shadow of Our Lord's Promise of a Yom(day) given avraham existed in their hearts till yochannon(John the Baptist) of the tribe of Levi bore witness of the end of necessity of the blood of animals to enter The Most Holy ..

Blessed be The Holy One

Justified by works of offering his only heir?

Faith with works involves a Hope of things unseen.
Was a ram in place of yitshakh unseen during that particular Yom(day)....?

Or even further in Noble thoughts.
Was the altar of no signifigance to a woman's tears of joy/laughter....?

Ole sh'aul mentioned two mother's that should be likened to two altars beautifully instructed in the Holy Torah by Yeshua himself.
An altar of sacrifice,
And an altar of incense.

Who is your mother?

The scribes/Pharisee/ and many others denied Yeshua
and with every opurtunity saught to entrap and find fault in him.
Instead of admitting their own faults they pursued him with thier own leaven..

Even to the point where they still till this era deny 'mourning seven days for an innocent persons unwarranted death/murder.

So yes,
As the lying scribes mourn only their wickedness for one day.

The exceeded righteousness of those who mourn the innocent for seven days are given sight of, and enter The Kingdom.
I strongly suggest studying The Torah and Prophets ..
The 2 and 3 that bear witness on Earth and Heaven.

Blessings Always.

Plus Rom 5:20 - Previously already cited...

Oh well...

Arsenios

Be ye holy is given to Israel only and is found in Leviticus 11:44
The church today should be holy (Romans 12:1) after saved unto eternal life, not before.

I don't get why you cited Romans 5:20 nor do I see it anywhere in your posts....sorry.
