Saints? I know it's a pleasantry, but i personally have a lot of trouble considering self a saint. Things that seem like sin still dwell with me. Perhaps one is made literally holy upon resurrection to judgement... though I would prefer to not wait so long...may HIS will be done.

I use it more as an exhortation.
That was how Paul greeted and referred to the disciples , and even the converts, in nearly every church he wrote to. And as we are to be
"set apart" unto God, I use the phrase to encourage those who are striving to follow Christ.
Indeed we are called to be
"saints" and hopefully living up to the standard, as we
"repent" &
"walk worthy" of our calling.
Honestly, I don't call myself
"Christian" as that term (which is used far too loosely these days) is reserved for those who prove themselves first to be True
"disciples."
