Seems like the lender is trying to hold on to his "savings" in virtue of purchasing a kingdom while the others give up all that they have without having virtue of gaining a kingdom but are happy to give it up.

I wouldn't be taking that line on its own to mean anything of Jesus. He is telling a story and that verse is a line spoken by a character in a story and not to mean an endorsement of any kind by Jesus. He's essentially playing a role of a character in His story and not speaking as Himself in that verse. With a parable you need to look at the whole thing to see the context of what he is trying to say through it and not just look at any one single verse and take something from it as that's not how it's supposed to be read.
