Dear brother, you have to be transformed by the renewing of your mind: You are Holy because Jesus is Holy and He is in You and you are in Him. You are walking around with the very Spirit of the living God indwelling your body. Now if a person desires to go and willfully commit sin, over and over they are not saved. There is no way someone saved will willfully commit sin over and over because when a person gets saved and filled with the Holy Ghost they lose the desire to commit sin period.

Prove it.

Re: Romans 8:13 - "Paul's first instruction regarding what believers must do in the struggle with sin destroys several false views of how believers are made holy: 1) that in a crisis moment we are immediately made perfect; 2) that we must "let God" take over, while we remain idle; and 3) that some turning-point decision will propel us to a higher standard of holiness. Rather, the Apostle says that the Spirit provides us with energy and power to continually and gradually be killing our sins, a process never completed in this life. The means the Spirit uses to accomplish this process is our faithful obedience to the simple commands of scripture" (emphasis mine).

And in the context of not only what the disciples were going through, but in context of the book of John, it's obvious that He was explaining that some might look like they are in Him, but they are actually dead. They will be removed. You cannot have someone who is saved who does not bear fruit. Period.

I do not think I have ever seen the word context so misused before.

I'm sure that's true from your perspective.

Manufacturing fake history and calling it context, as your post does, is not excusable.

Don't drag Jesus into it.

Nearly every word spoken in the mass and especially in the canon of the mass is a word spoken by Jesus Christ so he is already in the mass both in word and in deed.

Mormons quote Jesus, too.

May God be praised when they do. Truth remains true no matter who says it. Should Satan himself declare, "There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all, over all, through all and within all", it would be as true as it is from the pen of saint Paul. And in the mass it is a faithful minister of Christ Jesus who speaks the words of the Lord Jesus Christ and who offers incense and a pure gift in God's name.

And now you support heretics. I wish I could say I was surprised.

Saint Paul "supported" the spread of the good news about Jesus Christ no matter what motive was behind the spread of the message. I cannot, in good conscience, disapprove of the gospel message even when it is spoken by a foe of the Church.

And the Holy Ghost helps by restraining and warning the person so he/she will not commit sin. If he/she sins Jesus Christ our advocate charges it to His account. The church is weak because people do not understand this.It is the mystery that satan hid from believers by all of the religious mumbo jumbo that people have wrongfully believed for centuries. It is not about you brother. It is about Jesus Christ in you, in me, in us! We have been crucified with Christ now we no longer live but Christ is living in us! How can someone with the Holy One inside him live in perpetual sin? Before our Father loses one of His sons or daughters to sin He will call them home.Jesus's blood removed the stain of sin from our spirit man. However the mind has to be renewed because it has been trained in sin. That is why we daily wash our minds by the renewing of the Word of God. It is not hard to understand. When you gave your life to Christ it does not belong to you anymore, you gave it to Him! He is your owner! You are His property! Your body is His Temple. And He is all powerful! How can anyone take anything from Him?Romans puts it this way.

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Remember the Gospel is Good News! Grab hold of it.

i have no qualms in agreeing with the scripture at every possible level -in context with all other scripture .
the issue is that a "mixed " message is preached . yes there is no way some one born of the spirit of God and continuing in obedience to him will willful sin.. i testify of that change in my own life strongly and often . but they "can" do so.. and many do having first started out on the narrow way .. for it is only as we continually submit to his work in us that his work in us continually increasing transforming us into his image .
and an unclear trumpet sounded .
it is of absolute truth that a person who has believed and then set out to follow the lord Jesus cannot become unsaved in so much as they are continuing to follow, continuing to abide ,continuing to obey the Holy Spirit within them .
but the principles of: continuing ,abiding, following and obeying remain .

if the Spirit of God within says .."this is the way ..walk in it " and we refuse to do so at any point , he will correct, he will guide ,he will admonish ,and he will chastise ,but he will not strive with us forever. and these warnings are to a generation which faces his imminent return in which there is no time for correction and chastisement ..
the call to the bride is get ready now because of you are not ready (holy) at his coming ..you will be as the foolish virgins ..and the door will be SHUT on you . make no mistake in this .
each should judge their own heart and work out their salvation with fear and trembling .. why with fear and trembling ..? because it is a matter of eternal seriousness and eternal consequence to assume your "ok" to sing a nice song on Sunday and fill your ears and eyes with all manner of filth on television on Monday night ... desecrating the habitation of the holy Ghost within our hearts and by out actions display our nice Sunday words to be a lie before God most high .
he does work inn us his righteousness in so much as we are obedient to his workings and continue to be .anything else is the spirit of rebellion no mater how prettily it is painted over Gods sees it .

for if he says follow me , on a journey 1000 miles long, then at the 300 mile mark we turn and go a different way ... it is folly to think we will arrive at the same destination he is leading us to .. we must remain following . you will note he LEADS the sheep and those that are his listen and obey and follow -he does not DRIVE the sheep.
but now in this time we live .. there is not 900 miles to go on this journey .. the bride must turn back and obey quickly now . for he says "i come suddenly " not at a moment when you expect ..so be watchful and keep holy ( separated unto God- not mingled in wordiness and sin ) . for there will not be time to run and make ourselves right ..there will not be time to go and get new oil in our lamps for we will come back to the groom and he will say . I do not know you .and the door will be shut .

yes our salvation as as sure as it can ever be while we remain in obedience to the lord and there is no grater joy then being in the midst of his perfect will .- so we must repent of our sin and get in his will . yes we are delivers from the bondage of corruption ..but we are delivered ..does not mean we have no ability to return unto it by submitting the member of our body unto sin and unrighteousness and the end there of is death ..not life . we are set free to choose .

the mixed message is that there will always be time to get yourself right with the lord .. and this is not the truth . now is the day of salvation if you will not harden your hearts .. NOW ..not later .

the thread question -what are we saved from..

we are saved from the inability to choose to follow the lord Jesus unto eternal life.
for we were prisoners to sin but now having been set free we can chose every day to follow him always unto everlasting life but we are prisoners no longer ..
yet paul says .. (since he has been set free ) that he pushed forward to be further apprehended of God .. but not all do so. some turn back to be apprehended of sin ..
and if you (any of us ) do not repent of doing so then as surely as the lord IS God and his word is true. we will perish in sin .

we must keep the message clear and precise .

He never would have supported that a fake Jesus said something that the real Jesus said. He wasn't big on idolatry.

Prove what? Do you desire to sin anymore? If you do, you just might need to check and make your calling and election sure. Paul said test yourself to make sure you are in the faith. I think we can have an intellectual assent, or form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. So you need to make sure you are saved and not just being saved.Make sure you are sealed and not just being sealed.

Perhaps read the commentary. The killing of sin is "continually and gradually" through "faithful obedience", not automatic and for all time (i.e. "never completed in this life"). And this is coming from a major proponent of Calvinist doctrine. Do some research on John MacArthur to see what I mean. If someone like him says this, then perhaps you might be wrong.
Btw, thanks for the pep talk, but I assure you that my conscience is quite clear before God.

I have no idea where you got a fake Jesus from but if you've got one who says what the real Jesus says then you better believe what he says whenever it coincides with what the real Jesus said. I can't help but think that your posts on this matter have departed from the topic's theme.

I guess you don't know much about Mormonism.
