Surely life is more than that and
surely warfare against imaginary powers
is not the ideal towards which
Christ calls the faithful.

Eph 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities,
against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.

I sure wish they were imaginary...

If you do not know them as real...

Then you are in the toddler pool...

Give yourself some time...

Not my belief, by myself, as you falsely again accuse, but the teaching of the Christian Faith for 2000 years...

Show me your false theory that Salvation precedes repentance existing in the first 1500 years of the Christian Faith...

Nor is it in the Bible - No such verse exists there...

John the Baptist's ministry came before Christ's...

As John was born before Christ...

And Christ Himself preached John's words:

"Be ye repenting, for the Kingdom of the Heavens is at hand!"

For those of you from Rio Linda, and Steeler fans, that means repentance is UNTO that Kingdom...

Arsenios the vast number of Bible passages provided in this thread is sufficient, proving your position false.
Your claim about 2000 years of false teaching by your church may or may not be true. But, the Apostles did not teach what you teach, so I suggest it was manufactured by some other false teachers who snuck in as wolves and lead people astray. It happened at Rome as well, which is why reformation was so desperately needed.
You and YTG call people to save themselves through works. Let those destined for hell listen to you and follow. Let those whom God saves by grace through faith hear your words and walk away, knowing that God alone redeemed them when they were still yet sinners.

Well thank goodness you came along to set it all aright...
Sorry it had to be you to do it...
Christ should have done a better job of it, if you are right...

Never mind that it is the Church, according to the Bible, that is the Ground and the Pillar of the Truth...
Never mind that Christ is the Head of His Body the Church...
Against which the gates of hell shall not prevail...

All the Apostles failed, is that your position??

Too bad you could not have been there to advise Christ...

Maybe then He and they would have succeeded...

Lord have Mercy...

Christ and the Apostles did fine. Your church, however, went down a wrong path requiring reformation. Thank God He cares about His elect so that they aren't lead down works salvation paths. Your corruption of God's teaching regarding his adoption of humans by his grace is thankfully not followed by those saved by grace. But, I can't stop you from trying to be saved by your works. More than enough scripture has been shared. Good luck with your works salvation.

Christ and the Apostles did fine.

Where did they do fine?
And when did they depart from doing fine?
And where did they depart?
And how did they depart?
And which ones departed?
And how did it or they depart?

Your church, however, went down a wrong path requiring reformation.

The only Reformation in the History of all Christianity occurred in the Latin Church of the West...

Thank God He cares about His elect

He cares about those who turn to Him from sin...

You seem to think that He only plays favorites...

The passage does not mention demons.

Give yourself some time...

Demons are the bodiless principalities...
And the powers...
And the rulers...
Of the darkness...
Of this world...

And notice our relationship with them...

We are wrestling against them... [present ongoing tense]

Christian life is an ongoing struggle...

The ongoing struggle of repentance...

In this fallen earthly life...

There is always more to overcome...

"To those overcoming,
I will make Pillars of the Church..."
(Rev.)

Notice, God tells us to be strong...in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

Ephesians 6:10-20 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
Indeed, we don't waste our time on manipulating political laws that favor us and remove power from other humans (though this is the norm for US Christians). The battle is not physical. It's spiritual. Humans are slaves to sin. Their master is the devil. They cannot break the bondage of the curse no matter how hard they try or how much they repent out of remorse. God must break the chains. God chooses to break those chains through the work of his servants...those whom he has already released from bondage by the atoning blood of Christ. Christ set us free. We preach this reconciliation with God. We fight those who don't want the bondage removed. We walk in faith, knowing the gates of hell will not stand in the way of God's reconciling power. God will save EVERY person He has chosen to save. He will use His servants to storm the gates of hell. He will be victorious. And whether we remain in this mortal body or perish in the fight, we will forever be with our Savior who chose us for the good works which he ordained us to do.
Read the whole thing, boys, cause you are missing out on God's glorious work.

Rev 2:7
He having an ear...
Let him hear...
What the Spirit is saying...
Unto the churches;

To him overcoming...
I give to eat
Of the tree of life,
which is in the midst
of the Paradise of God.

You CAN be overcoming...
You may or may not do so...

IF you choose to do so...
God WILL Give to you to eat...
If not...
Then not...

Your call...

Your abuse of one verse is astonishing.
Would you admonish people to go and sin based upon the following verse?
Amos 4:4
“Come to Bethel, and transgress; to Gilgal, and multiply transgression; bring your sacrifices every morning, your tithes every three days

You will always be in falseness whenever you preach against obedience to Christ.

That is how you know when you are in falseness, when you preach against obedience to Christ, and are not yourself obeying.

Your abuse of one verse is astonishing.

"To him overcoming..." is repeated in each and every one
of the messages from Christ
to each and every one of the 7 Churches in Revelation...

Sorry it upsets you so...

Sorry, I am a New Testament Christian...

Your reply is pathetically weak, btw...

...but the church is the body of Christ.

And Christ is Her Head...

"And I believe in One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church..."

And that Body has an unbroken history upon this earth...

Granted, the Latins have gone a little wonky, mind you...

OK - Do you know some flesh and blood demons?

[And no smart remarks about Trump supporters!! :)]

Arsenios
Demons never had flesh or blood but they can go into anything or anyone, in fact the demons are never mentioned until the NT... which raises a good question, how did His disciples even know what he meant when he spoke about "Demons"? The apocrypha mentions them... hmmmm

Who are those who conquer?
Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Those whom God has chosen will persever. They will conquer because the love of Christ will not allow them to be separated.
As to your incapacity to live with the whole of scripture...that is just sad. There is only one testament of God. There is no separation.

Nothing can separate us from Gods love amen. I always favored these verses especially, not as popular as John 3:16 but in context they speak truth to who the Elect of God truly are

Funny how no one ever points to the actual 7 Churches mentioned in the book of Revelation.
How is the Church in Smyrna doing these days?
