There is no such scripture or teaching from God that says He saves unbelievers and causes them to believe without their knowing or wanting.

Faith is from God, from reading His powerful message, the Bible, the New Testament. It has the powerful message that saves. We do not get faith supernaturally, as many teach, but we get faith in a very human way, from reading the supernatural message!

Faith is from God, yes. Faith comes by hearing His word, yes. The Holy Spirit works faith in us. That's supernatural.

You are missing the point.

We are NOT regenerated with the Holy Spirit so that we can believe.

We are regenerated with the Holy Spirit if we believe and repent of our sins and call on the Lord.

If you were not born a believer, and are a believer now, then God saved you as an unbeliever ! It's called logic

How can you believe without having faith first that is given to you by God? Unbelievers don't believe in God. They can only believe when God gives them faith. Man can't save himself.

Faith and belief is the same thing; and, faith and belief come from hearing the message, being taught, persuaded, and convinced.

God regenerates us with the Holy Spirit after we believe in Jesus and repent of our sins through Jesus' shed blood on the cross.
