Here is the article:

http://www.vox.com/2015/9/24/9392543/russia-syria-putin

Russia says they are there to fight ISIS but not everyone believes them. What do you think is going on?
Actually the Russians have clearly stated that they are there to defeat all the various rebel/terrorist groups and not just ISIS. As the only hope that Syria has is to ensure that the Syrian (Assad) Government remains in power then we need to combat all of the terrorist forces in Syria.

What many people fail to understand is that Syria has recently gone through its worst known drought in 2000 years which has forced many of their farmers to seek work in the cities. Sadly, the Syrian government was incapable of meeting the needs of its population base which has been a major cause of social disruption in their country, which is why the Islamo-terrorists have managed to gain some support from the disinfranchised farmers.

I think it is a prelude to WWIII. Isaiah 17:1 says Damascus will cease to be a city. v3 says royal power will also disappear from Damascus. So,possibly Assad is the last king.

i think they ..like america, have a bunch of different motives . one of them to be honing their battle skills on foreign soil

yea i was going to bring that up.. its one prophecies which have not been fulfilled yet ,-

This message came to me concerning Damascus: 'Look, Damascus will disappear! It will become a heap of ruins. The cities of Aroer will be deserted. Sheep will graze in the streets and lie down unafraid. There will be no one to chase them away. The fortified cities of Israel will also be destroyed, and the power of Damascus will end. The few left in Aram will share the fate of Israel's departed glory,' says the Lord Almighty" (Isaiah 17:1-3, NLT).

thats some serious wide spread destruction .
while we are looking at what different factions of the world are up to, it does good to remember that God is sovereign over all things .

Magog was a grandson of Noah (Genesis 10:2). The descendants of Magog settled to the far north of Israel, likely in Europe and northern Asia (Ezekiel 38:2). Magog seems to be used to refer to "northern barbarians" in general, but likely also has a connection to Magog the person. The people of Magog are described as skilled warriors (Ezekiel 38:15; 39:3-9). Gog and Magog are referred to in Ezekiel 38-39 and in Revelation 20:7-8.

It makes me wonder why everyone is so interested in Syria.

Maybe they know of the prophesied fate of Damascus and the royal power. Maybe they are trying to prevent the prophecy from being fulfilled on their watch.

Because the middle east is the focal point, everything in end times revolves around Israel

Destruction will come from the north. Let us prey that this isn't at hand just yet as many will suffer and perish and in not being unified under God and it's direction will be damned to hell. It is of the utmost importance that we attempt to bring all into the graceful, merciful folds of the Lord as faithfully Christians. We musnt tarry about as time itself is hastened towards the end.

Peace

Faith in selfless Unity for Good.

I believe our Father will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. Many people there are receiving dreams and visions of our Lord Jesus Christ. Many are getting saved. Many are being martyred. Many are escaping into other countries where they will doubtless hear the good news. So no worries. Even so, come Lord Jesus.

As faithful followers we must do our part. We will be weighed at the gates. Will not be burdened by my lack of action brought about by worrying about my safety or comfort.

So are you going on a missionary journey to the Middle East? Let me know how I may help your endeavor. :)

Thank you. It will be a long while yet as I must find my place wholly under God and abide by total Faith in him which I am still working on as I smoke this cigarette. Not to mention its a long walk. Have only made it two states away from my starting point. It says to not start my journey in the winter because of the excessive strive that would be in vain. This is true on many levels. I am not prepared for the mountains yet as I sin and in doing so my body will not make the journey. Patience and perseverance with Faith in God is what I must remember. I must leave my fleshly sin in my past. Until I do so my walk is in vain. I pray that God will remove my wants and in doing so prime my soul for his journey.

Thanks again.

Faith in selfless Unity for Good.
