Amen brother, we have a role indeed but it's God who comes first in all that we do.
Revelation tells us that not all will be saved, quite a few actually, but I'm not trying to challenge anyone's salvation either

Amen to you, too, brother.
You are so kind to me here.
What should we do?
Could you still love me through our different beliefs?

Love to you brother.
If I say things that bother you too much, I will back off for a while and slow down.

I shall do the same, it's something I have learned to do here but im sure every now and then I over step and have to step back.
One problem I have is that I easily confirm with other beliefs here so when I agree with someone, another might take it as I'm taking a jab at them and their beliefs, the beauty of it is that we all fight the good fight together as one body in Christ amen!

I was just thinking how you give my posts 'likes' sometimes, and that probably bothers MennoSota.
Do the two of you have the same beliefs called Calvinism?

I have a good grasp of what the term TULIP means and I accept it tried and true. Menno is a Calvinists and so you could consider me one as well. I'm even part Catholic and Pentecostal as well with Lutheran beliefs with Josiah and Lamb, getting heavy into the Septuagint as well so I might be part Eastern Orthodox by the end of it lol

I think I see what you mean. You find something about each denomination that you can agree on?

Very much, all come with some form of dogma, I just say its our common human error but the group here are all really good Christians and no denomination can really define the believer imo, im sure that can't agree with everything in there own church.

I was in different denominations before I was saved. I didn't know which one was the truth. One day I just got Jesus' teachings and started doing everything he said. Jesus starts out his ministry by saying repent of your sins, so that is what I started out doing.

I give likes for many reasons, if someone is solid in their beliefs and even if I may not have those certain beliefs I give out "likes" for holding their ground. Someone can make a good argument against me and I would give them a "like" and then continue to respond with my defense , im sure it throws people off

You are a rare person to still be kind to another with different beliefs.

Well thank you but at the end of the day I believe we all love each other here greatly despite the debate of the day. :)
Remember the Word is your sword, never feel discouraged or belittled when you know how God has revealed himself to you, God didn't just turn on a light and we all share that same experience, God comes into your life because he chose you and whatever led up to that moment and in whatever experience God intervened in your life just know that it's solely between you and God, if you share your experience or testimony do not let anyone hinder you or question you, we are all here to learn and to mature in the Christian body

If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord .”
Joshua 24:15 - https://www.biblegateway.com/passage?search=Joshua 24:15&version=NASB

According to this verse we can choose.

Right on, the scripture says plainly to 'choose'.

God is not telling people to choose if they really can't. That would make God as being cruel and being maybe ironic?

Post #1 focuses on the choosing of Saul to be the first king of Israel. With respect to that choosing, it may be worthwhile to consider Jacob’s inspired prophetic utterance in Genesis 49:10:

The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

That utterance indicates that Judah will be the assigned royal tribe.

Could it be that by finding the clear, Scriptural answer to the following question, we might gain a greater understanding of God’s purposes, and of His ways in practice? “If Judah was the assigned royal tribe, why did God choose Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin, to be Israel’s first king?”

There is a highly specific answer to that question. But people might need to look for it. Does God reward people who go out of their way to learn of His ways?

==============================================================================================

Beware of trite answers like: “Because God can do what He likes” and “The sceptre would depart from Judah only once that tribe had it”. They are emotionally pleasing responses, but they are not the particular, precise reason that God actually revealed for us to find. Unfortunately, we are trained to accept superficial responses like that - responses that are human thoughts based on (dare I say?) laziness, rather than on proper Bible study.

2 Timothy 2:15: Study [[make effort, exert yourself, endeavour, give diligence]] to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

It looks like there could be a hint of reward there, somewhere. Or maybe a potential missing out. There is definitely responsibility.

Jesus starts out his ministry by saying repent of your sins,
so that is what I started out doing.

This has been one of the hardest points on this forum that I have ever encountered to make...
I mean, most here claim to be Bible Christians...
There are four Gospels...
EACH of the four has Christ's beginning of John's baptism of repentance...
That's the Gospel Truth, period...
John was even conceived before Christ - Gospel Truth!
The plain ontological meaning is the need for repentance prior to Christ coming to you...
"The voice of one crying in the Wilderness:
Prepare the Way of the Lord!
Make straight a highway for our God!"

And finally you come along!
I mean, it took you long enough!! :)
I have not had anyone covering my 6 here on this issue...
IF one does not preach repentance, one does not preach Christ...

The Jews were prepared by the Law - At least those who kept it...
All they needed was the Call to Repentance...
To turn their repentance inward...
To purify the heart of its evils...

The Gentiles needed the same thing...
But they were not prepared by the Law...
Yet they are still called to repentance from sin...
And this Way is the Way of the Cross...
It is denial of self...
Then taking up one's cross of suffering in self-denial...
And following Christ in poverty of spirit...
The narrow and hard and obstructed Way of the Cross...

Many are called to this Way...
Early Christians were called the People of the Way...
Few are those who find this Way...
Few are those Chosen...

So thank-you for being here...
For standing in the truth...
For establishing repentance as the proper response to God's Call...
God's Call to Repentance...

That is God's Truth!

Wow, AMEN, I love it.

I love the truth you speak in the Lord and for the great welcome.

Yes, John the baptizer had the Jews prepare the way for the Lord, and we still have to prepare the way for Jesus to live in our heart.
We prepare the way by repenting of our sins.

We promise to die to the sins of the world and live to please God.

This is fought against so hard by so many.

I believed in Jesus my whole life, since a small child, but received the Holy Spirit after I started to obey.

Thank you again for this great post.
