I apologise for serving media to CH lately but I find it a bit of fresh air to watch a simple illustration explaining with ease what seems to be a great confusion amongst many theologians today.
Case and point -Son of man, just why did Jesus not refer to himself as Messiah or Christ?

Son of man was referenced many of times throughout the OT. Good question, I admit that I drew up blanks several times during the video, something to discuss I suppose

Exactly.
A Pentecostal preacher once taught that we are sons of man until adopted as Sons of God by God, it made sense at the time but I forgot how he explained it.
I like how the video explained it.
One issue I had was with Cain in the video, God never gave him a choice to sin or not, at least not to my knowledge.

quayin(cain was given a warning.. but went on to commit the unforgivable.

I believe the Lord knew cain was conspiring to commit murder, hence the warning.

Christ never did forsake being the Son of Man...
The Pentecostal Pastor may have thought our adoption makes us no longer Sons of Man when we become Son's of God in Christ...
He would be mistaken if he did...

In Christ, we become genuinely human...

It was a pretty good start...

The cross is indeed an instrument of torture unto death,
And we are, like Christ and following Him, to embrace it to the end...
We are to take up suffering as our means of Joy that is not of this world...
Not in order that we rule the world...
But that we be One with Christ...
The Mystical Marriage of the Lamb...
Where the death of this world...
Is scorned and welcomed...
And has no power over the Good in us...
For we in Him have Life...
Eating His Body and drinking His Blood...
And make no provision for the flesh...
And trust God for all Provision...

I've always thoughts of it as Jesus fulfilling what is written in Daniel 7:13-1“I kept looking in the night visions,

One like a Son of Man was coming,

Son of man refers to a man born of woman, or flesh.
Ezekiel was referred to as son of man; Jesus is referred to as the Son of man and Son of God.

Son of Man refers to the Son of Adam. Ezekiel is referred to as Son of Man as a prophet in the line of Adam, who follows the cursed line which has resulted in exile from the land.
Jesus is connected to the line of Adam, but unlike Ezekiel, Jesus is in the line of perfection...still within the unfallen line of the covenant. Jesus represents the restoration of perfection that was lost at the fall, but which only Christ can restore.
The reference to Son of Man is profound and points us to the way of reconciliation with God and His covenant with man.

Son of Man and Son of God reveal to us the two natures of Christ.
