To bad most of that growth was due to Obamas policies. Unemploynment was steadily going down before he took office and since has continued. When it quits which it probably will in 2019 wonder if he will take credit for that as well

I think poor Donald is getting a little nervous with the Democrats taking over in the House soon and his buddy Nancy going to be majority leader. He's desperately trying to change the conversation by threatening to close the government if they don't fund his wall. A wall that is a stupid 5 Billion dollar idea and a waste of time
I'm getting early next year we could see impeachment hearing in the House

Much of the growth seems to be illusory anyway. Easy money makes everything look good, just wait until interest rates move back to more sensible levels. Economic cycles very seldom fit into convenient electoral terms. You're at least kinda-sorta-onto something where it comes to credit and blame - it's no surprise that everybody wants to take the credit for things going well and shunt the blame for things going badly to The Other Side.

Personally I still think the 60s and 70s set the die in ways that no modern politician is likely to be able to do much to correct.

We should never forget that if one party does what was previously unthinkable in chipping away at our free system of government, it will not be the last time and it will not be something pulled off by that party alone with all things going back to normal afterwards. History is quite certain of that.
