I really hate it when Christians try to tell someone you gotta have enough faith and God will give it to you whatever you desire but that is far from the truth. What happens when 2 Christians are praying for the exact same thing and only one of them can receive it? They're both faithful Christians and we know one of them won't get it so it isn't like one is stronger in faith and God is shining his love on that one more over the other one.

Yep, my point exactly except you'll hear someone say that someone was too weak in faith to get that win from God, right?

Agree, "you didn't have enough faith" upsets me, if a prayer does not go as I wish I don't believe I lack faith I just know it's Gods will and that he has something else planned.

This the problem when people promote faith as coming from the human will rather than as a gift from God.
Boasting, pride, bitterness, disappointment, etc, all come from this false teaching in regard to faith.

Menno pointed out where the difference lies...those who believe faith comes from something within us are those who also think that if you don't have enough faith you can't ____ (fill in the blank). When we realize that faith comes from God then we know that the happenings here on earth are part of His plan. So there are things we won't get no matter how hard we wish for them.

In the case of the OP, one Christian will always be let down but that's because God has a different opportunity for that person. It isn't going to always be a matter of "faith".

Or when in time of war, priests, ministers, pastors, etc. on both sides pray to God for victory for their side, and for the protection of their own side’s soldiers, while those soldiers go out to kill as many of the other side’s soldiers as possible.

Just in case anyone is tempted to twist the above observation into meaning that I am expressing antipatriotic sentiments – and thereby throw doubt in people’s minds on other thoughts I present – let me simply mention the separation of church and state.

I am suggesting only that the True Christian Gospel pertains to the ultimate salvation of individuals, not to the transcendence of political entities, in our day and age. Nor does it pertain to the general longevity and physical well-being of individuals in this temporal existence.

(It’s just a thought, for what it’s worth – if anything).

Weird But True: Two Christian High Schools Have Been Stuck In A Tied Football Game For Six Months After Both Teams Invoked Philippians 4:13

CAMERONSVILLE, IA—File this one away in the "weird but true" folder: in a tragic prayer misfire, two Christian high schools have been stuck in a tied football game for the past six months after both teams prayed Philippians 4:13 before the game.

The teams, the Highland Christian Knights and the Valley Christian Knights, are currently facing off in a record-breaking 25,920th overtime. They got stuck in the loop of neither team being able to win after both teams' coaches huddled them up to pray and both claimed the victory by invoking Philippians 4:13. ...

I remember from my youth when some church leaders would caution the players and cheerleaders that the thing to do was to pray that they play their best rather than to win the game per se. But I agree that, most of the time, people just pray that God will somehow bring victory for team A over team B.
