I was just thinking that there are so many things that scared me and I am afraid of. I think the big one is being killed and having an awful death!

The consequences of not doing what GOD wills for me to do in my own life, and the consequences of doing what is knowingly against the will of VOD in my own life, which is idol worship to me.

I fear nothing else; literally.

We are shown to fear nothing but GOD.

peace

Heights, also for some reason looking straight up in the sky freaks me out.
Not so much at night unless the moon is directly above my head I feel I have to run and hide lol

What is it about looking up at the sky that bothers you?

I'm reading a book right now by Dr.Richard O'Connor called "Rewire: Change Your Brain to Break Bad Habits, Overcome Addictions, Conquer Self-Destructive Behavior". In it he says that after only two weeks of doing a new habit the brain has begun to create new neuropathways that can be seen on a scan. And when people are anxious it tends to make it so that they are even more sensitive and those neuropathways are strengthened. Giving them a hairline sensitivity towards being anxious.

Part of the key is changing what we are thinking about so that we are not focusing on our fears. For a christian, it is focusing on God instead of our fears and anxiety.

It makes me feel small I guess? lol
Its dumb I know, it's been with me as a little kid, I would ride the ferris wheel and looking down from the top never scared me but when I looked up at the machine itself (from the bottom) it would freak me out. I was afraid of rides maybe??
Now today if I am in a parking lot I can't look up at the broad sky especially if the sun or moon is directly above me, I feel like it has a personality and is superior to me.
Gosh its strange, i never tell anyone this.
I have never been in an airplane (a small one last year, i wasnt afraid tho cause I was looking down).
Even in a tall warehouse or venue I dont look up at the beams holding it together, maybe its a trust issue in that case (not always just the sky)
Looking down I feel well grounded, looking up I see no ground haha.
Oh! Btw i used to have dreams all the time that gave me nightmares, I would fall UP! i would jump and never come back down and just keep going up and up and up until I would wake up :)
I had a dream about a month ago, I was in a high rise but very small (room wise) tower and all the windows on all sides were broad, I was above the clouds in a psychiatrist office and I was on the floor in the middle scared to death with my eyes closed and in a fetal position, the psychiatrist never got to me and just left me there in complete fear and panic.

I fear Hell.
I fear being abandoned and rejected by my family and friends.
I fear making more stupid choices than I already have.
I fear dying alone.
I fear facing the death of my parents.
I fear doing something dumb that would result in my congregation excommunicating me.
I fear loss of faith.
I fear being cast out of my job and thrown out onto the street.
I fear overdrawing my bank account.

Thank you for your honesty. I believe in a loving God and I don't believe there is a hell in the after life or that a loving God would do that to me. I believe hell is on Earth and I have been through it.

I don't believe that is possible to think of nothing but God all the time. It seems everyone here thinks I have no beliefs but they are different from yours. I have ways of dealing with my fears now. I ask myself if they are rationale or reasonable. A lot of the time they are reasonable. I don't spend every waking hour fret with anxiety and fear, though. I do divert my attention to other things or I would be a wreck. I express my feelings. I have a background in counseling, too, and psychology and learned to deal with many things through what I have learned. I know at this forum those techniques and skills I have are not of interest to anyone because God is always the answer to everything with most here.

No, I didn't say that it is possible to think of nothing but God all the time. I never said that.

Yes ma'am; that is exactly what it means.

I had a little scare a couple of weeks ago working under a very rotten house. I was lifting a section of subfloor with two 20 ton bottle Jack's while my helper and I were under the delapadated structure. This isa relatively standard happening given my field, but can still be rather unsettling. As I lifted the foundation the floor joists on on both sides and above me holding the floor didn't move with everything else, but simply broke creaked and snapped while lifting. It's one thing when these sounds are heard, it's another when you e knowingly lifted 40 tons over you and can hear and see everything around you wanting to give in on top of your head. In these cases I pray.....nearly without ceasing....silently. my helper used to be atheist.....I believe he is slowly coming around. I wouldnt pray aloud in his presence.....but pray for his protection. I guess what I am trying to say is that at times I can seemingly be stirred; I very nearly lost my gumption and bailed out from under the house in fear of my life...but with prayer and faith one can be secure. It wasn't that I thought my life wouldn't end, but that I knew GOD wouldn't let me be responsible for the death of my young helper/ Carpenter's apprentice. So in extreme cases I can get somewhat scared I suppose. In these cases we are to give it up to GOD and rely on HIS mercy and justice.

That's really interesting and one fear I've never heard of. Have you Googled to see if others have it too?
