Bad theology perpetuated in songs.

I would rather them singing about the powerful name of Jesus than singing most of the secular songs on the radio.

Personally when something is repetitive to that extent I struggle to see a whole lot of difference between it and the folks in orange chanting Hare Krishna. If they were singing something useful I wouldn't mind so much but if all they are singing is "what a beautiful name it is" over and over they aren't singing any useful message at all.

I've given up on listening to a lot of CCM radio. Not all of it is bad, however, just the question of theology. There is a band that I listen to called the "Neal Morse Band" whose last recording was a concept album based on the book "Pilgrim's Progress". The previous one was about Neal's own journey to Christ. He also has an album called 'Sola Scriptura'. That one I haven't listened to.
So I find more theology away from traditional CCM than within it.

Only marginally more, and the second verse is theologically suspect at best. So one sentence repeated for much of the song and 50% of the verses theologically suspect. I wouldn't call that a particularly good song.

Northwestern Radio is headquartered here in the Twin Cities. Their call letters are KTIS. I refer to it as the "One in Ten" radio station, meaning one out of ten songs has theological value.
