And I'm home.
Made it through the 25th of December seeing friends and enjoying their company without a hitch. Thank you, God. Good idea to fill up on food b4 arriving because I knew most of what was going to be offered was meat with not enough calories represented in the veggies without depriving everyone else of them. I was a bit nervous about the whole thing but it went well despite my fears.

Slept almost all day. Boring Christmas. Kids are w dad. He posted em on Facebook luckily. Thats nice. Gotta clean the house up. Its filthy. Kids come tomorrow. Handy that we have 2 Christmas days.

Working the 'on call' job today. So I'm getting holiday pay from my full time job and time and a half for working today on this job. I've got a pork chop in the fridge at home and will get some stuffing and cranberry sauce to go along with it for tonight. Will probably watch 'Trading Places' tonight

Lazy Christmas yesterday, but went out for a walk in the park later on with my wife and enjoyed the Christmas lights again. We had the park mostly to ourselves.
Few errands today, then met a friend for lunch. The place we planned to go was closed so we went to our fallback place. Nice, although not what I'd hoped for. Not sure why the first place was closed, their web site said they were open but at 12:55 there was nobody there.

Gearing up to write a nasty letter to my bank. I've been trying to get a very simple concept through to them for some years now and they still demonstrate they aren't listening. Talking to their call center is like pulling teeth - someone with a foreign accent who clearly doesn't understand what I'm trying to do, and the promised call back never happened. So the chances are they are going to get a letter dripping with sarcasm and an invitation to remind me why I entrust my money to them at all.

Working out of Starbucks since our office is effectively 'closed'. I could have been there, but I would have been the only one there. I could have had some vacation days, but didn't know until about a week ago. Besides, I'd be driving myself nuts trying to figure out what to do. As I said before I got this job, I'd had enough "down time" to last me a couple of lifetimes

I just got back from visiting family and friends back home in the Chicagoland area...brr!! Negative temps!!! The windshield wiper fluid had ice blocking the path so that wasn't good because we got caught in a freak snowstorm for a couple of hours with whiteout conditions and then stuff spraying on my windshield from the semis passing us as we were doing 30mph...in a 70mph zone. Very stressful!

Signing off for a bit - have some work to do from home. We had some significant snow, plus a bit of freezing rain, over-night. So I'm probably not going out until later. Good thing I can tether my work phone to my computer and access the servers for my job
