Has God called you to a mystery?

I know that God has called me to ministry but my exact calling is a mystery.

I wonder does anyone else feel like God's calling is a riddle that your trying to solve?

The other day, the Lord pestered me to see a friend. Called her to ask if everything was alright. She said fine. But the Lord continued to pester me through the night to go see her. So I called her the next morning, three times before she answered, and that is when I told her I am coming to see her. Been to her place once. So this is very unusual for me. When I got there, she told me about her prayer. She had been praying for someone to come and anoint the house. She didn't tell anyone because she wanted someone God sent to do it. Soooo.. I did... God works in mysterious ways.

There are many times when I want to shake God and ask "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?????"

But then I remember that God is in charge and I follow, not the other way around. Many times God seems to make no sense at all, many times it seems I want to say "you brought me all the way here and for what?" but sooner or later I learn to accept that God does what God wants and in God's time. If it happens to coincide with what I want and my time then that's a bonus, but it usually doesn't. Usually God needs to teach me a new lesson or two before I can take the next step, and sometimes I'm a bit slow to get the point.

If you feel you have been called to something, you need to speak to your elders. God won't call you to something apart from the church.

I see it as a puzzle. I believe we each have the perfect piece... makes it more bearable knowing we don't have to figure this out on our own. We're in this together, the riddle will be solved.

I suppose Martin Luther did teach that. His seventh theses says; God never remits guilt to anyone without, at the same time, making him humbly submissive to the priest, His representative.

Check 1 Cor 12 regarding Spiritual gifts. Also check out the five fold ministry gifts in Ephesians 4:11-12.

Sometimes it feels that I way. I think we always have to be open to course corrections at times. Sometimes we can get our will confused with His.

I feel like church is a place where I can be edified and equipped and then I go out into the world to serve.

My main ministry is counseling which is done in a mental health agency not the church.
