I have shown you the error in your reasoning.
It doesn't matter if the water baptism takes place as an infant or anytime on the timeline. Water baptism doesn't save. You are not judged for your good and bad works in order to enter heaven. If we were, all humanity would spend eternity in hell. We are judged solely upon whether God has graciously chosen to adopt us, atone for our sins and immerse us in Christ. If God has chosen to do that; He grants us pardon. If God has not chosen to do that; He rightly sends us to hell. Has God chosen to adopt you, MC?

You also appear to be fixated my "status" with respect to salvation. Try sticking to the topic. It is the meaning of baptism. It is not "is MoreCoffee 'saved'".

You claim that baptism saves. The two are therefore connected. If you want to "tap out" and leave the conversation you may. You are evading the issue, however, so I hope that means your conscience is being stirred.

I've already said I am baptised. Evidently that is confusing you. I am baptised and since baptism is linked to salvation in John 3:5 and 1 Peter 3:21 as well as in Titus 3:5 and Romans 6:1-14 I am saved though salvation is not completed until the last judgement and the resurrection of the righteous.

I understand you. My explanation of the salvation train explains your position exactly.
I have explained your faulty exegesis of the passages you rely upon.
The conclusion is that you preach a different gospel than what Jesus or the Apostles preach.

Fundamentally, MennoSota, I am not following you in matters of faith nor in matter of biblical exposition. Albert Barnes (a Presbyterian commentator) and The Cambridge Bible Commentary (a mainly Anglican work) offer explanations of John 3:5, Titus 3:5, Ephesians 5:26, Romans 6:1-14, and Acts 22:16 that are credible while your offered explanations are not credible.

MC, you preach a gospel that is not preached by Jesus or the Apostles. Many credible scholars reject your faulty hermaneutics (but really, you don't take the time to actually study the passage yourself and instead find others to lean upon.). May God graciously walk you to the path of grace and away from works. Water baptism does not and never will save you from your sins.

The truth is that most Christians do not hold the views that you hold on baptism.

Many people imagine they are Christians when God has not chosen them. That doesn't make them correct, it makes them mistaken.
A 1500 year mistake is still a mistake, MC.
The verses where the word baptism is used have been provided and explained as to why your position is wrong. You can cling to mistakes if you wish. I will still pray that God might adopt you by His grace.

The view of baptism presented in my posts is 2,000 years old. It is current. It is current because it is also true today as it was true two thousand years ago.

A false statement from you is still a false statement. I can only pray God leads you to see your error. Until then, you are stuck in your faulty tradition.

That's what I said for twenty years when people assaulted my tradition. Once I covenanted to read the Bible first and let the Bible speak above my tradition, God changed my path. It has been glorious to let the scriptures speak and let go of the empty traditions of men.
I pray that God gets rid of the traditions that keep you from His grace.

You're not assaulting anything. You're just having a bit of a rant about nothing. Like I said earlier this thread is about the meaning of baptism it is not about "is MoreCoffee saved".

It's about the false teaching on baptism your church teaches, which has pointed millions of people toward hell while promising the hope that their good works and baptism will save them.
Honestly, your church is equal to the Jehovah's Witnesses as they both miss out on God's grace.

I'm closing this topic for Staff Review. It is appalling to see the disrespect being shown to others and is not necessary.
