I am waiting for my house to cool before a cook dinner :)

You may be waiting a while. As such, steak may be a better option if you are cooking.

I'm not suggesting it as the best option, but it will take less time than lentils.

Unless you prepared them by sticking them in water overnight, in which case they will be done faster than the steak. :p

Filet Mignon for dinner here tonight! $5 for two in the package :) Can't beat that.

I'm doing laundry and waiting to call my daughter. She should be awake by now.

Going to have a look at an apartment this morning. Not the end of town I want to be in, though. It's far enough out of the 'sketchy' end that it's worth a look. We'll see. But I need to get out of where I am. Then off to the MCC thrift store for furniture shopping. They usually have decent stuff

Sitting relaxing...

Got what I hope is the last mow of the year. The lawn mower is now completely empty of gas and ready for the winter. I poked some fiberglass into a few gaps I found in the stone wall (the interior side) to block a couple of draughts. Wishing my preferred insulation panels would hurry up and hit the market - latest ETA is mid December. Seriously debating whether to just go with a product that isn't as good but is available right now. Also thinking about some electrical work I need to get sorted out imminently. That can wait until tomorrow...

It's called "meat gloo"

Those filet mignons could be the off cuts of a cow's rectum for all the purchaser knows. And the butcher laughing all the way to the bank.

Yummy Bacteria tho...like the kind found in cow poop. Oh, delish!

Went into the kitchen to warm up a cup of coffee. Coffee's in the microwave, so I go in the washroom to brush my teeth. I hear noises in the kitchen of the microwave door being opened and someone bumping the cup of coffee. I come out, open the microwave door, and coffee is spilled all over the microwave. Many noises of my displeasure ensued.
I need to get out of here

Hmmm, some maladroit spy spilled it. Beware! It's probably one of Donald's nominees for high office :p

That is not why the meats I buy are on discount. Maybe that happens where you live.

There is a "Sell by" date on all meats at my grocery store and when the day draws near, those meats have to be sold so the Manager marks them down. That's why I got quality meat for a discounted price but I have to be there early at the store to get them.

That's how it works here too. When the date is near the shop discounts them - sometimes the discounts are huge.

Oh yes, great discounts!! Chicken, pork, sausage, beef, it all gets marked down and there usually isn't a big quantity available that are discounted. I look for that yellow sticker and then go inspect the package!

Plants grown outdoors get fertilized with cow poo out here where I live ;)

There is absolutely no way for you to actually verify this. Did you watch the video? Banned in the EU but not in your beloved US of A. Your beloved State FDA allows for it, so the butcher can legally do it with certain rather obscure labeling laws that are misleading to put it mildly. That's if he's actually following the law. The use of "meat glue" and other industry type schemes basically rely on your trust in the labeling. Your eye cannot differentiate between "cow meat" and "rat meat" when it is so processed. If the meat is as advertised from the animal it says then your eye cannot tell what part of the cow the meat comes from. Your eye can tell a carrot from a bell pepper from an apple by it's color and shape and relative size, and your experience can tell you a seed is real when it transforms itself into a plant under certain conditions - but much of the meat you eat relies on trust. Your trust in your butcher - that he's following the law and your government - that they are enacting laws for your benefit and not their own reasons.

Money, of course, has no play in all of this. :p
