I pulled a right calf muscle yesterday, so have been resting since then.

Too much too soon?

I'm waiting eagerly for the go ahead when I can start working out again.

I probably pushed myself too hard. I have a habit of doing that. When I have tried elliptical it doesn't hurt, so I will just do that for now and weights.

Resting. Our house guests brought some kind of head cold with them. It slowed them down for a few days, then they were kind enough to pass it on to me and it's slowed me down for a few days. We said goodbye to them this morning, and I spend almost all of the afternoon in my recliner with the TV on.

As soon as my sinuses clear up (which could potentially be tomorrow or Monday) it's back to the house project. Lots of work already done, lots still ahead. At least I've managed to get a route in place to run some new cables. Hopefully we'll have central lighting in the bedrooms soon.

I'm sprouting wheat for the first time. It has just started to chit. Once sprouted, I'm going to dehydrate it and seal it - except for the portion I plan to use for bread - which will be milled into flour.

It dawned on me recently that although I have lived in a Western Industrialized nation (US and Australia) my entire life, considered "1st world" - I do not believe I have ever had a truly wholegrain wheat bread - a bread where the entire make up is nothing but the grain itself and perhaps some yeast if it's risen. The bread I've eaten my entire life called "wholegrain" has been a rip off. And that makes me sort of sad and angry at the same time. Anyway - that is going to change - very soon.

The no pain no gain slogan is a lie! Listen when your body wants a different pace and you will be able to do more sooner. :)

I'm going to go to church for the first time in a while! It will be good to see everyone.

No, it isn't a lie. But context does matter. When I strength trained ( I do not now, nor have for some time ) - you do the exercise safely until the point when you fail. It involves pain. Acquiring an injury is different - it usually involves doing an exercise in an unsafe manner that puts the targeted muscles at risk or other ones that weren't targeted at risk - such as doing bicep curls with weights too heavy for that person to lift - and using the rest of your body (swinging) to achieve the curl. Recipe for muscle injury.

Being woken up because it seems this place is never without an errant sight, smell, sound, whatever. It's 1:30 in the morning. Who could be cooking? It's noxious!

Edit - now the lady down the hall is up for a smoke and stumbling around because she can't see in the dark...

I like living in the country. The only thing at night is when the windows are open and you hear an animal screaming. Other than that it's quiet.

I hate bad allergy days! Does this happen every autumn?

Every single autumn. Not good, seeing's how I've got an appointment with my therapist today. She'll probably call off the session early, but I haven't got much to tell her anyway.

My sinuses bother me a lot in the spring and fall and I have springtime allergies. Actually I have all kinds of allergies but for seasons the spring is the worst for me. I'm allergic to so many medicines that now I take Allegra and I'm not sure if it even helps. Do you take anything?

Did the early bird get the worm? I went to bed early last night and got up at midnight LOL That was too early so I went back to bed after going through facebook for an hour.

I'm looking at AncestryDNA's updated DNA Origins page for myself. It looks like they've condensed the Ethnicity Estimates with the more recent Migrations on a single page.

Inspired by Lam's post I decided to make pancakes - something I haven't made in ages.

Ingredients: Sprouted Chickpeas (dried and milled), almond milk, chocolate powder, dark muscovado sugar, salt, oil, sodium bicarbonate and apple cider vinegar (for raising)

They were ok. Taste wise could perhaps benefit from a few other spices - like cinnamon. Texture could be improved as well. Not bad for a novice baker.
