Okay... in the USA anyway..... soon costumed children (and NO LONGER CHILDREN!) will be traversing our neighborhoods - perhaps threatening harm (but few actually meaning it or even realizing they are threatening it) seeking above all CANDY.

Some of you adults will secretly raid your children's load - stealing the good stuff (and hoping they don't notice) - all in the rouse that someone might have placed something dangerous in there (which NO KID on the planet believes - they all know you are raiding their load).

Some of you adults will buy candy you LIKE for this annual event - but you'll eat it all before Halloween and so have to run to the store on Halloween after work to get whatever no one else wanted to eat before Halloween and thus is still available.

Some of you may even PRETEND to be protecting your little one but you have a BIG BAG too hoping to get your own load.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO....

What is your fave?

What do you hope to get sick on?

Snickers?
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups?
Hersey's Chocolate Bars?
Candy corn?

What is it?

How do you plan to get it?

Now that I am diabetic, Halloween is scary for me for a whole different reason. I try not to cheat, but there is often a lot of candy around
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Crunch Bars or Kit Kat Bars

Um, none of the above? I tried a commercial candy bar well over a year ago to remind myself of what I was missing and ended up throwing half of it away - it was too sweet.

I guess this makes me safe around children with candy.

LOL! I'm pretty much that way, too....

When I was a kid, I loved Halloween and dressing up and all..... but not really the candy. This made me VERY popular with my siblings (and if truth be told, my parents). I was more than willing to give it away (except for the Kit Kats, I kept those).

My favourite at Halloween is a good single malt scotch. This honours the Celtic origins of the day.

Hmm. I've given them out several times, but I'm still surprised to see Starburst ranked that highly.

Kit-Kat was okay, but Twix were never safe around me. It had to be eaten properly - chocolate off the sides first, then the caramel layer, then the cookie. If I failed it was okay, there were more! :D

This is hilarious because parents must buy and keep Snickers and M&Ms for themselves! USA Today has an article on the most popular Halloween candies: https://www.usatoday.com/story/mone.../most-popular-halloween-candy-in-usa/3274967/
1. Reese's
2. M&M's
3. Snickers
4. Hershey's
5. Kit Kat

There is a valid point to some of that, IMO. Most people do not have a way to know how many Trick or Treaters will show up at their door. I used to live in a high-traffic area and the number from one year to the next varied widely. Sooooo, the best thing seemed to be to give out stuff that you wouldn't mind having around later if stuck with it afterwards. That only works if you misjudge by a modest amount, of course. If it rains and you get only half the expected number or callers, youre still stuck.

I think parents buy candy THEY like..... which is why none of it is left by Halloween and they have to rush to the store to give something to hand out.

My husband has me buy his favorites!

I haven't even bought any this year! I'm still wondering if I should do the little baggies filled with 3 or 4 pieces, hand out one big candy bar or maybe just a bag of snack size chips?

I'm surprised I just saw this thread and didn't before...anyhow...used to love Butterfingers. Love how they get stuck in your teeth. They have a new version now. I could count carbs and have one but they don't really even taste good to me anymore; too sweet.
