No, if teachers and principals had guns there would be a lot less dead now

As a former substitute teacher, when I look back there is NO way I'd want anyone except for the on campus officer to have a gun. I've seen teachers and subs reach a breaking point and I'd hate for the students to pay the price. I had to cover one sub's classes for the day because he totally wigged out. How many of those students would be alive if he were allowed to have a gun in class? :(

Wait which is it? Either you are saying that guns should NOT be in schools because it could kill more OR you are saying that they should because people could be saved.

I believe that they should be armed and I think most people should be also. It would cut down on crime if people knew that there would be someone with a gun nearby

Amen other than this week I cannot REMEMBER the last time we had a shooting in this county ( been here my whole life) Yet, in the city it happens a LOT.

Running through all the teachers I have known I only think of 2 I'd not object to being armed.

The vast majority would object to being armed and likely of little use in a violent situation. A gun in their hands has no upside.

One of the 2 I'd trust used feigned anger and used it well, I doubt he would have wanted to give up that tool, he would have had to if he was armed. If anyone thought it was real they would freak out if he was armed.

That gets down to one who might have accepted a gun who would be worthwhile.

It should be pointed out that guns locked down are guns that cannot be accessed in time. Guns not locked down then need to be on the hip of the bearer, that is NOT conducive do decent class discussion.

I agree! Only the police officers should have guns.

Because they are well trained while the teachers may shoot someone out of angst.
Well, people who have a concealed carry permit are also trained.

I would vote yes if "gun free zone" meant "a zone free of guns". Since a "gun free zone" usually means a zone that is free of lawfully held guns rather than a zone that is free of guns I'd have to vote no.

I think that the teachers who want to carry should be allowed to.

Do frazzled, burned out teachers beat kids with staplers? Or run them over with their cars?
