The two contestants on who is crazier than whom are Donald J. Trump and Kim Jong Un. They are both trading insults with each other while tensions between North Korea and the United States of America escalate http://www.freep.com/story/opinion/...nald-trump-north-korea-kim-jong-un/693161001/, even to the point that North Korea actually claims that Trump has declared war on North Korea because he put Kim on a list of people responsible for human rights abuses http://www.express.co.uk/news/world...d-red-line-sanctioning-Kim-Jong-Un-world-news.

Okay, so here we sit, with a couple of megalomaniacs chomping at the bit for any excuse whatsoever to declare war. It's a very frightening time, when you have a couple of world leaders who seem to care more about looking good than securing the safety and well- being of their own citizens. This situation has become idiotic on an international scale.

These two have traded sharply-worded insults (in the manner that characterizes almost everyone in Washington and Hollywood and in the Media as well), but they are far from being dumb.

Good point. Crazy is probably a better word for this. I stand by my assertion that this whole situation is absurd ( completely unnecessary).

If what I am reading is correct, the new wave of sanctions against North Korea are an act of war. Many people are led to believe sanctions are some sort of "peaceful" approach - they aren't - they are usually preludes to violence because they hurt the citizens of the targeted country.

Well, the war of words may be unnecessary and dangerous. That part I agree with.

Agreed, they both lack wisdom and diplomacy.

Indeed and their special lack of tact may well mean fatal consequences for innocent people down the road.

i would rather them trade insults than launch nukes at each other, tbh

if Trump was silent people would be going "omg stupid Trump why is he being so quiet while Kim insults us, what an idiot" etc

and honestly, "Rocket man" is a good nickname for Kim, lol

I agree with you that Trump is not letting a bully get the best of him and it shows assertiveness...but unfortunately he also shows aggressiveness which scares the world. Maybe the world needs to be scared?

Given the economic and military might of the USA versus North Korea - and the recent sanctions against the latter country - you must be kidding. Only one of these nations could possibly fit the bill of "bully". If war follows and a bunch of people die and suffer greatly, then we will all remember that it was David against Goliath, right? Good vs evil, right? The USA saving the world against nuclear tyranny by a backwards dictatorship under the rule of a madman?

Joke.

Of course you'd think that. More war glory. Let's pump our fists into the air as we set upon a country with a fraction of our military might and murder a bunch of it's civilians. Just like flippin Vietnam, eh? Wait? Did they attack? Oh? Not yet, but they will! Just like the Japanese after their oil was cut off prior to Pearl Harbor! Flipping Duh!

Everyone who supports this should sign up. Rid us of your murder for the State and your stupidity!

That's a point worth contemplating, all right. Still, this is not a situation in which two bullies or dummies share equal responsibility if things do not work out well. Kim is the one who has threatened the world--or his part of it at least--by his actions, not just his talk, and has altered the status quo. While President Trump's attempt to impress Kim that he will not be another doormat like Obama may not succeed, it is not as though the USA is throwing missiles at Japan, etc.

This is the problem with people who think like you. The first action you recognize is the violent act, and nothing of the context that surrounds it. Japan would not have attacked the USA at Pearl Harbor had their oil not been cut off. Germany post WW1 would have not taken certain extreme measures if international finance and a hated Treaty not been forced upon it - causing many in the country to starve. Iran would not have labeled the USA "the great Satan" if the USA had minded it's own business and not installed the hated Shah and his military police who subjected that country to it's horrible regime.

Instead - all these things mean nothing to the blind. The only thing that matters is "who took the first violent act"? Sanctions - are the first violent act. The USA has declared war by issuing sanctions. The USA is the aggressor - AGAIN. Even in the Vietnam - the USA was the aggressor - as it is now recognized that the bogus Gulf of Tonkin incident was completely fabricated. Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq? More lies by YOUR GOVERNMENT AND THE FINANCIERS WHO BACK THEM.

International finance runs your country, and they are behind nearly all the propaganda and all the war, which they profit from, in order to fulfill their desire of world domination.

If I could, rest well assured that I would. I think he's gone too far beyond his original mandate to secure our borders and improve our economy. I'll sign petition after petition to encourage accountability to Congress and the Chief Executive, I'll even march in opposition to war and I'll scream the Constitution to both sides ( Conservative and Liberal) until I'm blue in the face. I've never liked the idea of my country playing " planetary policeman" even before all of this. We've got too many issues here at home to want ( or need) to interfere with events happening on other parts of the world.

David did not taunt Goliath as Kim Jong-un is doing so there is no comparison. Kim Jong-un is a bully, plain and clear. Casebook example from what I saw as a substitute teacher dealing with bullies on a daily basis years ago.

I really don't see too many countries telling N. Korea to stop what they're doing besides the US? It's possible I missed that news though.
