Immediately after Elijah's showdown with the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, Elijah hears a word from Jezebel who tells him that she is going to kill him. He gets scared and makes a run for it. This is the same man who faced down hundreds of prophets of Baal in the previous chapter. He requests in 1 King 19:4 that he might die.
The angel of the Lord gives him nourishment and then also a new task. what lessons could we learn from this experience of Elijah and how quickly he gets down and discouraged? What can we learn from God from this passage and his not rebuking Elijah for his being tired? Does it say anything to you about how to deal with times when we feel down?
