Bit of a cleanup in the parts of the house I've been wrecking. Still more wrecking to do (took some time out because of the heat) but it won't be long before I can start to think seriously about Stage II: Putting It All Back Together Again.

Hope you feel better soon. I'm waiting for repair man to get here and get the bird's nest out of the dryer vent. It seems it is always something.

I just finished eating breakfast. I'm still sick so I'm not going anywhere today and will maybe throw in a load of laundry later. How exciting. I've been reading a lot on my Kindle though.

Working graveyard at my on call job. Glad to be here, though. I had nothing during June, but have some hours this week and next. Passing the time doing some curriculum development for a group program I'm running. Glad to be a little busy.

Took out another 50 feet of old wiring. Now I can run my power saws in the attic without worrying how long before the wire melts. That's going to be handy, as I need to replace some roof supports and have to cut them to size.

I put some tick and flea medicine on my cat and now she is acting all wierd. So, that is entertaining. I don't know if it is the smell she doesn't like or what but she acts like she's a little high. Tried to bite a book I was reading a little while ago.

Our cat sometimes seems to bite just about anything that fits in his jaws. He's got a cat condo with many scratching posts and sometimes he bites those, then turns and bites the level where he usually sleeps. And then there's the array of toys that he'll ignore for days at a time and then suddenly decide they need to die, right now.

Some of those meds are so dangerous!! One from the vet almost killed my dog and I called them to let them know what happened and they said, "Well, yeah, it has side effects." I pulled her off their pills asap and just used some from the pet store instead. So be careful if you're getting the strong stuff from a vet for flea, tick and heartworm.

No, it wasn't from the vet. Just basic flea and tick stuff. I told my wife about how she jumped on my chest when I was laying in bed and tried to bite the book I was reading and my wife said she has done that before when she didn't have flea and tick stuff put on her. I guess sometimes she just wants attention.

We got our new pergola on the back deck installed today. It looks great. I am really happy about it

And you just noticed? I think I've finally climatized. It's not anywhere near as cold as places I used to live - but yeah - if you are inside and can see your breath - there is some frigidity in the air...

My breath is still invisible but it is cold. I do not like feeling cold so I am rugged up in a couple of layers of clothing.
